Rumors Say It’s Showtime Will End on GMA 7 by December 2024

IT’S SHOWTIME – Rumors are circulating that the noontime program will only air on GMA 7 until December 2024.

The show, which began on April 6, is facing challenges as GMA plans to bring back its noontime program with the return of Ms. Malou Choa-Fagar as President and CEO of Television and Production Exponents (TAPE, Inc.). Ms. Fagar previously had a long history with TAPE during a successful era of “EAT BULAGA” but left due to issues with a former host.

Inquiries made to It’s Showtime regarding the rumored December end date went unanswered. However, Vice Ganda, the main host of “It’s Showtime,” spoke with TV reporter MJ Felipe about ongoing sabotage against the show. He stated, “Well, there really was or there really is a demolition job against ‘It’s Showtime.’” referring to negative activities on social media aimed at undermining their success.

Despite challenges, including past suspensions from the MTRCB, host changes, and backlash, “It’s Showtime” has remained strong for 15 years. Vice expressed confidence in their team’s ability to face negativity and emphasized the importance of unity.

“We just have to deal with it and we just have to keep on going. Kaming lahat sa dami nang pinagdaanan namin, I believe that our team is strong enough to be able to battle all these negativities, challenges and threats together. It will be hard kung hindi kami magkakasama. Kaya ‘yun ang lagi naming pinananatili at tinatawid. Kailangan magkakasama tayo,” he said.

Vhong Navarro also commented on the imperfections inherent in the industry, noting that people often remember only the mistakes amid numerous successes.

As the show prepares for its 15th-anniversary celebration starting October 24, which includes the annual Magpasikat production number featuring the hosts, questions arise about whether these negative rumors are strategically timed to draw attention to the show during this milestone. This ongoing tension within the noontime show landscape highlights the competitive nature of Philippine television.
