Gretchen Ho asks Willie Revillame about love and relationship
Willie Revillame to Gretchen Ho: “Do you want to be together?”
The conversation between TV host Willie Revillame, 63, and athlete-turned-broadcaster Gretchen Ho, 34, was interesting on Seryosong Usapan: Willie Revillame Faces the Journos, which aired on TV5 last Sunday night, July 7, 2024.
Gretchen was interviewed by Ed Lingao, Lourd De Veyra, and Patrick Paez.
Willie accepted the invitation to visit and be interviewed by the four hosts of Seryosong Usapan because starting Sunday, July 14, he will be returning to television and his new game and public service program on TV5, Wil To Win, will be aired.
Many things changed because of Gretchen’s questions and reactions to her interaction with Willie.
When Willie’s personal life and his singleness were discussed, Gretchen commented.
The former volleyball player said, “I’m not going to get married, okay?”
Willie’s comedic nature came to the fore because of his response to Gretchen’s words.
“Do you want us to just get married?” Willie asked Gretchen with a laugh, who seemed surprised by what he heard.
“Well, because you too, you’re feeling it, you don’t want to get married. It depends, later I’ll like you, you’ll like me.”
GRETCHEN HO ASKS WILLIE REVILLAME ABOUT RELATIONSHIP
Gretchen didn’t flinch as she asked Willie again, “Should I avoid people like you?”
Willie answered seriously, “Well, why would you avoid someone with a good heart?
“Why would you avoid someone who doesn’t do things illegally? What’s done is legal, loved by the poor?
“Why would you avoid someone with good intentions?”
Gretchen’s male co-hosts laughed and joked that the girl had nothing to say.
Lourd then asked Willie what he could offer a woman.
“Just be happy. Happiness,” Willie said.
Gretchen squealed again and asked, “What if I want someone loyal, committed?”
“I’ll give you a Loyal Tru-Orange,” Willie quickly replied.
The hosts of Seryosong Usapan laughed but their conversation was no longer serious.
Willie continued, “Let’s just say, the two of us are going to be a couple. New, right, sweetheart?
“Well, if you’re nice to me, why would I hurt you?”
Gretchen asked again, “So, you mean, I wasn’t nice to you?
Willie explained, “No. During that time, I wasn’t ready yet.
“Now, I think, at my age, going 64, will I still cheat?”
Willie asked Gretchen: “Why are you asking me questions about love? Are you sad, Gretchen?”
Gretchen: “Very happy!”
Willie: “Do you have a boyfriend?”
Gretchen: “No! I’m very happy to be alone because I don’t want a headache, eh. Because I might get married and then just break up.”
Willie: “You’re just imitating me, eh. A boyfriend is not a headache. Get ready. What do you want in a man?
Gretchen: “Taller than me.”
Willie: “You’re physical, eh. When you have abs, it’s not worth the money because you’re always at the gym, eh. When you have a little belly, your future is good!”
GRETCHEN’S CONFESSION TO WILLIE
Before Gretchen’s inquiring into Willie’s personal life took place, she apologized for her previous post.
“I have a confession, sorry. I posted something about you before, it was Cory Aquino’s time. Petition to oust Willie Revillame,” Gretchen said, followed by a loud giggle.
Gretchen read the petition against Willie on August 3, 2009 because of the Wowowee host’s reaction while the events of the former President’s funeral were shown on television.
It stated: “Do you think Willie still deserves to be on Wowowee after all his scandals? Does he deserve to be the idol of today’s youth? If you don’t think so, sign this petition to have him removed from Wowowee.” After reading the petition from her cellphone, Gretchen said to Willie, seemingly cutely, “I memorized your song.”
Willie’s response, “You’re not alone, are you? Did many people petition?”
Gretchen’s reaction, “I don’t know the results,”
Willie said: “You should ask. You petitioned me, but no one petitioned, so you’re not the loser.
“Think about it, I’ve been through the stampede, 71 dead people. ABS sent me back.
“Ma’am Charo [Santos-Concio, ABS-CBN executive] showed me all the emails, like, ‘We’re praying for you. It’s not your fault. Come back because my mom misses you.’ Those things.
“Do you know that, you’re just one of the petitioners, millions want you to come back. You lost.”
The “stampede” Willie was referring to was the stampede that occurred on the first anniversary of the noontime show Wowowee on February 4, 2006, Saturday.
An estimated 30,000 people packed the PhilSports Arena, or ULTRA, in Pasig City to witness the first anniversary special of Wowowee.
But what was supposed to be a big celebration turned into a terrible tragedy when a stampede broke out as people entered the venue. The incident left more than 70 people dead while about 400 others were injured.
