PBB Otso: Hasna Cabral’s story makes Vice Ganda cry, visits her and extends help
MANILA, Philippines – Comedian and It’s Showtime host Vice Ganda was moved by one Pinoy Big Brother (PBB) Otso housemate’s story that he decided to personally visit her and extend help.
More than being a celebrity, Hasna Cabral has bigger reasons for entering the PBB house. She wanted to earn and save for the lifelong treatment of beloved children with special needs. Hasna is a devoted mother to two children with autism, Bash 9 years old and Baste who is 6 years old.

In the PBB episode early this week, Hasna opened up about the challenges of raising children with special needs. At one point, she recalled how a group of children took turns slapping her son Baste, who only laughed because he thought they were only playing. Hasna was in tears as she feared for her children’s future when she would one day leave them. She is struggling to find the means to fund for her children’s special education and also to personally be there to assist them.
Many viewers were captivated with emotional Hasna’s story, including Vice Ganda.
The Unkabogable Star voluntarily visited the PBB house to meet the inspiring mother.

Vice spoke with Hasna and said, “Naramdaman ko, ang bigat-bigat ng pinagdadaanan mo. Blessing naman talaga sila. Hindi naman sila ang mabigat; ang mabigat, ‘yung mga karanasan, ‘yung mga pinaglalaban mo, ‘yung mga haharapin mo in the future na pagsubok.”
“I also learned there were times na pinanghihinaan ka na ng loob, gusto mong sumuko. Hindi naman talaga natin kaya lahat, kasi kung kaya natin lahat, ba’t may Diyos pa? It’s a good thing that we acknowledge na hindi natin kaya lahat. We need help. Suporta. Pang-unawa,” he added.
Vice shared that he chanced upon Hasna’s story on TV while going through some difficult time.
“Nag-iiyak ako. Noong puntong ‘yun kasi, I wasn’t feeling good about myself. I wasn’t feeling good about a lot of things. Ang bigat-bigat ng loob ko, feeling ko ang dami kong problema, feeling ko ang dami kong pasan. Nahihirapan ako, na-pi-pressure ako,” Vice said.
He added,“But when I learned about your story, sabi ko, ‘Uy, ang arte-arte ko lang pala.’ Ang dami kong iniinda, eh walang-wala pala ‘to sa iniinda mo. Nakakahiya naman.”
Vice continued that while many view him as a happy and cherry comedian, he is actually “broken” inside.
“Everybody sees me as a very strong person, when in fact mahina ako. I am broken. A part of me is broken, and it’s okay. Kasama ‘yun sa ganda ng pagkatao ko, my brokenness,” he said.
Vice didn’t share much about his personal struggles but recalled that when he was 17 years old, he almost “gave up.” Looking back, he said he is thankful he had the strength to move on and got to see the fulfillment on his dreams.
The comedian then explained why he had large luggage in tow. Vice said he brought things and gifts for Hasna’s children and also some clothes to help in the housemates’ “Ukay Ukay” challenge.

Vice told Hasna that he was not only helping her but thanked her for helping him.
“Marami kang napa-realize sa ‘kin. I felt like I needed to do something. Hindi ko ‘to ginagawa para lang tulungan ka. Natutulungan mo rin ako,” Vice said to Hasna who was already in tears.
“You gave me an opportunity to do something right, to do something good. Hindi naman ito ang sagot sa mga tanong ko bago kita nakilala, pero nu’ng nakilala kita at ang storya mo, parang gumaan ang damdamin ko. Hindi namn ito ‘yung sagot, pero bakit nakatulong ito sa ‘kin? Kaya mo ngayon, kayanin mo pa,” Vice added.
Vice also thanked the rest of the housemates and inspired them to hope that good things will happen. He said, “I’ve been given so much, more than what I need. Okay naman na ang pamilya ko. Ang gulo ng paligid, there’s so much negativity around, pero may mga magagandang bagay pa rin naman na nangyayari. Dapat kumapit tayo sa ganu’n, dapat hindi tayo mawalan ng pag-asa.”
