Robin Padilla underscored that she and the Padilla clan respect Kathryn Bernardo amid her breakup with Daniel Padilla, with the senator saying it was her who gave the younger actor a break in show business.

The actor-turned-senator was asked about Bernardo and Daniel’s breakup during the media conference for Gringo Honasan biopic—in which he will portray the retired soldier and politician—on Wednesday, June 26.

“Magkakabalikan ‘yon,” Robin said of the former couple. “‘Pag gumawa ng pelikula ‘yon, magkakabalikan ‘yon.”

“Sa tagal natin sa industriya, alam naman nating lahat na ang mga ganyang partnership, love team ay dadaan talaga sa prosesong ganyan kasi nagma-mature sila e,” he stated.

Robin also declared that he is still rooting for Bernardo to be Daniel’s end game, joking that his vote is still with the actress despite her supposedly not casting a vote for the senator during the previous election.

Sharing his advice for Kathryn and Daniel, Robin continued, “Ngayon habang magkahiwalay kayong dalawa ay mag-enjoy din kayo sa mga sarili niyo. Habang nag-eenjoy kayo, do’n niyo malalaman na mahal niyo ang isa’t isa.”

Robin further noted that while Daniel doesn’t confide in him over such matters, the younger actor expresses his emotion through singing.

“[Nanghinayang ako]. Alam naman natin lahat na—alam lahat ng Padilla na malaki ang aming pagbigay pugay kay Kathryn kasi siya rin naman ang nagbigay ng break kay Daniel,” Robin said.

“Alam naman namin lahat ‘yon kaya ang paggalang namin kay Kathryn ay sobra-sobra,” he underscored.

Bernardo and Daniel confirmed their breakup to the public in November 2023 after 11 years of being together.
