Actress Sunshine Cruz is avoiding being asked about the rumors linking her to wealthy businessman Atong Ang.

The rumors linking Sunshine and Atong surfaced in January. The actress was previously in a relationship with Macky Mathay. Their breakup surprised many showbiz fans because they had been together for many years already. Atong, on the other hand, has been linked to former actress Gretchen Barretto for the longest time but they have stressed many times that they are business partners so they are always together.

When the rumors linking Sunshine and Atong surfaced, a source asked the businessman about this and he denied it. Reportedly, he said that this rumor has been around for quite some time already. In February, rumors surfaced that Sunshine Cruz and Atong Ang are in “ligawan” stage.

Abante entertainment writer Jun Lalin shared in his recent article that they interviewed Sunshine during Regal matriarch Mother Lily Monteverde’s wake.

Sunshine was once a Regal baby and during that time in her career, among her fellow Regal babies were Karla Estrada, Jackie Forster, and Shirley Fuentes.

Lalin shared that after his interview with Sunshine for his ‘Anything Goes’ show on Abante TeleTabloid, the actress admitted that she was nervous with the anticipation that she will be asked about intrigues. “Natakot ako. Akala ko intriga ang itatanong mo sa akin,” the actress said.

The entertainment writer said that Sunshine appeared to be afraid of the intrigues after she was linked to Atong. It was said that she was thinking that she would be asked about this in every interview.

“Ayaw na kasi ni Sunshine na may mga ganoong intriga kaya as much as possible ay hindi niya gustong matanong pa about Atong,” Lalin said.

Meanwhile, Sunshine Cruz recalled the kindness she received from the late Mother Lily. When she was part of That’s Entertainment, the Regal Matriarch had her fetched because she really wanted Sunshine to sign with her company.
