Paul Soriano thanks Kris Aquino for defending him from negative issues
During the intimate thanksgiving press conference of the award-winning 2017 Metro Manila Film Festival movie Siargao, director Paul Soriano answered the issues being thrown at him in his personal life.

One of these was reacting to the endless intrigue surrounding him and Siargao lead star Erich Gonzales.

Director Paul said this is one of the sad parts of showbiz.

“I think it’s part of it, it’s part of the industry. It’s the unfortunate part of the industry that you just have to accept. At the end of the day, my main focus is to tell a story and make a film,” said Director Paul.

Meanwhile, the award-winning director is thankful for the defense he received from his godmother at Toni Gonzaga’s wedding, Kris Aquino.

In Kris’ Instagram post, a troll can be read who accused Erich of using bad language.

“Ms. Kris Aquino is our ninang and she’s being protective. Actually I was talking to Tin (Toni Gonzaga) last night and we’re very thankful that she’s being considerate. She’s our ninang and she knows the truth,” Paul said.

He added that their ninang Kris also has the right to say what she feels.

“If she feels she needs to defend us, that’s her right and we appreciate it so much. And I think today she’s going to have a block screening for Siargao. I know Ms. Kris and Erich are close also, actually she’s been very supportive of Siargao even before.”

Despite the negative comments, their relationship with Toni Gonzaga is still reportedly strong. “Honestly, Tin and I laughed about it because we’re secure. To be honest with you, we would rather play with our little boy than read about unnecessary things coming our way. It’s part of the industry. I think every actor, actress, filmmaker goes through that and for me it seems like maybe we get acknowledged but it doesn’t affect me because we know the truth,” Paul said.

Finally, the director thanked Kris Aquino again for defending them on social media and hoped that they would work together someday.

“Actually I messaged her about the block screening. Thank you very much, I hope she likes it. It would also be an honor to work with her, to direct her. Kris Aquino is the Queen of All Media, right? Who wouldn’t want to experience working with Ms. Kris Aquino, right? It’s really challenging and something to look forward to,” he concluded.
