Vilma, Aga, at Nadine sanib-puwersa sa MMFF 2024 movie Uninvited

Uninvited producer: “This is a movie that no one is expecting.”

Pasok ang Uninvited nina Vilma Santos-Recto, Aga Muhlach, at Nadine Lustre sa 50th Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF).

“OK na OK po kami,” sambit ni John Bryan Diamante, executive producer ng Uninvited, matapos ang announcement ng Final 5 entries ng 50th MMFF noong Oktubre 22, 2024, Martes, sa The Podium, Mandaluyong City.

“So happy! So happy we’re part of the MMFF.”

Maliban kina Vilma, Aga at Nadine, nasa cast ng Uninvited sina Tirso Cruz III, Mylene Dizon, Lotlot de Leon, Elijah Canlas, Gabby Padilla, RK Bagatsing, Ketchup Eusebio, Gio Alvarez, Cholo Barretto, at Ron Angeles.

“Pinakamahal po na casting! Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha! But we’re very, very happy,” lahad ni Sir Bryan ng Mentorque Productions.

Ang Mentorque ang nag-produce ng MMFF 2023 official entry ni Piolo Pascual na Mallari.

Pagpapatuloy ni Sir Bryan, “Malaki ring tinulong sa… when you know you’re really working with a lot of professionals, at saka ibang klase pag pinanood mo sila during the shooting.

“Sobrang amazing! Iba! Ang pinakamaganda dito, this is a movie that no one is expecting.

“It’s a challenging role for everyone. Kaya talagang we made sure na kakayanin nung cast.”

VILMA, AGA, NADINE IN ONE MOVIE

Gaano kabigat sa bulsa na pagsama-samahin sa isang movie project sina Vilma, Aga, at Nadine?

Napangiti si Sir Bryan, “Sa akin po kasi talaga, sa mahal ng bayad sa sinehan ngayon, parang people should be compelled to go to the cinemas. ‘Ano yung worth ng pera ko?’

“And I think dun kami dapat mag-risk na mga producers. Masaya kami na naibalik yun — siksik, liglig, umaapaw sa Mallari.

“And I’m so happy na talagang nag-accept uli ang Warner Brothers, iro-roll over namin dito. Kasi I think, the Filipino audience deserves something worth their hard-earned money.

“So, sa artista pa lang, hindi kami nag-atubili. Kung mapapansin niyo po, tatlong malalaking direktor ng kasalukuyang henerasyon ang nagtrabaho together.

“Dan Villegas, Antonette Jadaone, and Irene Villamor… Sobrang galing! So I think, ito, masasabi namin na ayaw naming manghinayang yung Pinoy pag pumunta sa sinehan.

“So, ayun siguro yung risk talaga ng mga producers ngayon. And if you will see, the lineup of the 10 [MMFF 2024 entries], parang wala namang tulak-kabigin!

Wala namang nagtipid. Mukhang wala naman pong nagtipid. Lahat naman po talaga, kasi alam po natin, talagang hindi na po biro yung presyo ng sinehan.”

Kandidato si Vilma Santos-Recto sa pagka-gobernador ng lalawigan ng Batangas. Paano ang schedule niya?

That’s the reason why natapos na namin yung shooting. Kasi kailangan talaga namin siyang paspasan,” sey ni Sir Bryan.

“Kasi kung hindi, yari din! We’re gonna have a problem. Kami naman, with Uninvited, we really never expected.

“Kung naalala ninyo, ang sinubmit namin for script was Biringan. Tama? So something happened along the way lang.

“Things fall into places. And we’re very happy that we have this film. At saka itong pelikula na ito, istorya niya [Vilma] ito, e.

“It’s something that she was looking for ever since. Istorya niya ito! Sinulat lang, in-screenplay ni Dodo Dayao. Pero siya ang nag-explain what she wants to happen.

“That’s why this is very special. For us it’s an opportunity na kami ang gumawa. Sinasabi talaga ni Ate Vi, passion film niya ito, it’s a dream project.

“And lalo na nung nag-decide siya, di ba, tumakbo. And siyempre pag tumakbo na yun… that’s why napabilis din yung paggawa.

“Talagang nailatag. Parang yung timing! Tapos I never realized, lahat ng hiniling namin na mga artista, mabilis umoo.

“And then nagswak lahat sa schedule. That’s why heaven-sent. Lalo na today that we were picked to be one of the official entries — really heaven-sent.

“Na parang something is pushing us towards that, e. And then right now, pre-production ng Biringan. It takes a lot of time din to finish that film.

“So, ito ngayon ang mas nauna pa, na natapos kaysa sa Biringan. That’s why this one, nagbakasakali kami na ipasok.

“Because nakikita naman namin, at the end of the day, somehow I think, Filipinos on the 50th edition of the MMFF, I think they deserve a film like this.

“Something that they haven’t seen for decades.”

Napakasipag ni Vilma Santos-Recto na mag-promote ng When I Met You In Tokyo sa 49th MMFF last year.

Ngayong tumatakbo siya sa eleksyon, may sapat na panahon ba siya para sa promo ng Uninvited?

I think it’s a balance. I mean, siguro maraming time management. And I think matagal na ring magaling diyan si Ate Vi sa time management,” sabi ni Sir Bryan.

“And with that, I think hindi naman mahihirapan, di ba? Yun ang nakikita ko.

“Alam mo din naman iyan, first love din niya ang cinema. Diyan siya unang nakilala.

“So I think, walang magiging problema.”
