Katrina Halili Opens Up About Her Daughter’s Mild Autism Condition

Here’s how Katrina Halili deals with and handles her daughter’s condition.

Kapuso actress Katrina Halili recently opened up about her daughter Katie’s mild autism condition in an interview with Boy Abunda.

Katie is the daughter of actress Katrina Halili and singer Kris Lawrence. In 2023, the actress revealed that Katie is suffering from mild autism spectrum disorder (ASD). What their daughter has is in a mild state.

She was diagnosed at a young age d and she noticed that there was something odd about her when she could not make eye contact. She sought the help of a doctor and was told that she had to keep track of her condition until she turned 12 as the condition might get worse.

After the pandemic, she realized that she was not making a lot of time for her daughter and upon this realization, she decided to cut down on work to focus on taking care of her daughter.

In a recent interview with Boy Abunda, she opened up about her daughter’s condition and became emotional. She did not feel any fear since her daughter’s diagnosis. She bravely faced and handled Katie’s condition and focused more on the treatment instead of fear.

“Meron kasing ibang tao ayaw eh. Galit. ‘No, hindi. Hindi ganun anak ko.’ May ganun eh. May mga naririnig po akong ganun. Ayaw. Pero ako ano. Siyempre, sinunod ko ano ‘yung mga kailangan niya. Therapy, ganiyan,” she shared.

It was initially tough for her and she would sometimes find herself crying for not being with her daughter. She learned that if a person is not equipped with enough knowledge about the condition, it would be difficult.

“Mahirap, pero kailangang tanggapin mo. ’Yun lang,” she shared. Right now, Katie is okay and she described her as a sweet girl.
