Kim Chiu says piece on giving second chances in love: “Ba’t mo ako iniwan, ‘di ba? So, hindi na.”

It was last December 2023 when Kim Chiu confirmed her break-up with long-time boyfriend Xian Lim.

According to Kim Chiu, second chances in romance are not for her.

She explained her side on the topic during the “Expecially For You” segment of It’s Showtime last Wednesday, February 21.

It was her co-host Vhong Navarro who asked her whether she would give a former partner another chance in making their relationship work.

“’Di ba nilaban mo naman, tapos nawala. Pero ’pag gusto pang bumalik, papayagan mo pa ba?” he asked.

Kim answered back, saying: “Ako kasi ’yong taong ’pag iniwan ako […], ba’t mo ako iniwan ’di ba? So hindi na.”

However, the actress-host made it clear that this mindset could be different for every other person.

“Iba-iba naman ’yan, tsaka kapag andoon ka na, hindi mo talaga masasabi,” she said. “Wala talagang makakapagsabi kung ano ang magiging desisyon mo kapag nandoon ka na.Today, iba sagot mo. Kahapon, iba. Baka bukas iba, ’di ba?”

It could be recalled that Kim was the talk of the town on social media after her co-host Vice Ganda discussed the topic of moving on from a romance weeks before.

“Ang hirap kaya noong nawalan ka ng mahal sa buhay, pinipilit mong mag-move on pero kahit saan ka pumunta at kahit anong gawin mo, nakikita’t nararamdaman mo siya. Pupunta sa mall, gusto mo mag-enjoy, pero nararamdaman at naaalala mo siya,” Vice said.

“Lahat naman ng nangyayari sa buhay natin is written, ginawa na ’yun bago pa tayo pinanganak. So, mas madaling tanggapin ’yong mga lahat ng mga bagay,” Kim added.

It was last December 2023 when Kim confirmed her break-up with long-time partner Xian Lim.

On Instagram, she said the split was a mutual decision, saying they still hope that the break-up can turn their relationship into a lifelong friendship.

“It was our mutual decision to transition our relationship into what we hope to be a lifelong friendship. We thank all our followers for their love and support, but now we ask you to appreciate our honesty and give us the privacy we need as we begin new chapters of our lives,” Kim wrote.
