The death of politician DV Savellano, husband of actress Dina Bonnevie, prompts outpouring of tribute messages for the former representative and governor of Ilocos Sur.Pumanaw ang mister ni Dina Bonnevie na si Department of Agriculture undersecretary Deogracias Victor “DV” Savellano nitong Martes, Enero 7, 2025.
Siya ay 65.
Si Savellano ay nagsilbing first district representative, governor, at vice governor ng Ilocos Sur.
Wala pang opisyal na pahayag ang pamilya ni Savellano kung ano ang dahilan ng pagpanaw nito.
Noong December 31, 2024, ibinahagi pa ni Dina ang video ng bakasyon nila ng mister sa Japan.
DV SAVELLANO’S CONTRIBUTIONS IN ILOCOS SUR
Sa official Facebook page ng The Provincial Government of Ilocos Sur, naglabas ng mensaheng pakikiramay para kay Savellano.
Sabi rito: “Dios unay ti agngina for the life-long devotion and commitment to public service.
“The Provincial Government of locos Sur expresses its deepest sympathy and condolences to the bereaved family and friends of the late Former Governor, Former Congressman, and Department of Agriculture Undersecretary Hon. Geogracias Victor ‘DOV’ B. Savellano.”
Agad ding naglabas ng pakikiramay ang National Tobacco Administration (NTA) kunsaan nagsilbi si Savellano bilang oversight official at presiding official ng Governing Board.
Noong taong 2020, kasama si Savellano sa grupo na bumuo ng Sustainable Tobacco Enhancement Program (STEP) kasama ng ibang NTA officials at stakeholders.
“His dedication, leadership, and invaluable contributions to the agency and to the upliftment of the life of the tobacco farmers will forever be remembered.
“Our heartfelt condolences go out to his family, loved ones, and colleagues during this difficult time. His legacy continues to inspire us.
“A CHAMPION OF FARMERS AND FISHERMEN” IN ILOCOS SUR
Nagbigay-pugay rin ang University of Northern Philippines (UNP) sa kontribusyon ni Savellano sa pagtaguyod sa unibersidad bilang “beacon of higher education in the Ilocos province.”
Inalala rin ng UNP ang isa sa panukalang naipasa ni Sevellano, ang House Bill 4995, na nagbuo sa Northern Luzon Growth Quadrangle Development Authority, na layuning paigtingin ang “socioeconomic development across the Ilocos Region, the Cordilleras, and Cagayan Valley.”
Tinawag din ng UNP si Sevellano bilang “champion” ng mga magsasaka at mangingisda sa Ilocos Sur.
“He advocated for the tobacco, garlic, and onion growers, working closely with the Department of Agriculture to implement projects that would revitalize these vital industries.
“His efforts to channel resources and support to these sectors demonstrated his deep understanding of the needs of his constituents.”
Binanggit pa ng UNP ang libro ni Sevellano na Ilocos Sur: An Illustrated History kunsaan ipinakita ang geological origins at early settlements ng lalawigan.
