Julius Babao criticized for asking Kaladkaren about marital issue
Netizen: “Julius Babao’s ex is so gossipy…”
Some netizens didn’t like Frontline Pilipinas anchor Julius Babao’s sudden questioning of fellow news presenter Kaladkaren about the status of her relationship with her husband Luke Wrightson.

This Thursday, February 27, 2025, during the extro of the TV5 primetime newcast, Julius directly asked Kaladkaren, a.k.a Jervi Wrightson, if there was any truth to the rumors that she and Luke had separated.

This happened after Kaladkaren reported that Robi Domingo went to the NBI (National Bureau of Investigation) to file a complaint against a fan of Donny Pangilinan and Belle Mariano who allegedly threatened the TV host.

After Kaladkaren’s report, Julius suddenly spoke about what he said was another rumor.

Julius said, “Well, we have another piece of news, how true is it, Jervi, that you and Luke are separated?”

Kaladkaren’s face showed the shock of Julius’ question to her. Instead of answering, Kaladkaren just laughed and covered her face.

Since Kaladkaren couldn’t answer, Julius turned his attention to another of their news presenters, Denise Tan.

Julius said, “Denise, do you want to comment on that?”

Denise quickly replied, “Let’s just wait until she’s ready to answer.”

Netizens DID not like what Julius Babao DID on-air
Many netizens did not like Julius’s way of asking Kaladkaren questions, especially since it was on-air.

On X (formerly Twitter), several netizens and fans of Kaladkaren criticized Julius for what he did.

Tweet by a netizen (published as is): “Putting someone like that on the spot in national television for something so personal is beyond unprofessional and unethical. Kaladkaren owes no one an explanation for her personal life, nor is it national news. Julius Babao do better.”

Another said (published as is): “Julius Babao’s ex is a gossip. He forgot that he’s a newscaster and not a showbiz reporter. He’s probably interested in being a youtuber.”

Another suggested that Julius should apologize to Kaladkaren for his sudden questioning that was clearly off-topic.

A netizen said (published as is): “I think both Julius Babao and Jervi need to take a leave; Jervi needs to process what she’s going through, while Mr Babao needs to reflect on his actions and prepare to apologize privately to Jervi and to the public.”

Others called Julius “unprofessional.”

“Julius Babao is so unprofessional in his spot with Kaladkaren in his private life. It’s still awkward.”

Another added (published as is): “Julius Babao, it looks like you didn’t even get a grade 2, you’re so insensitive, kudos to the 2 anchors who saved Kaladkaren from that moment.”

Julius has not yet reacted to this.

KALADKAREN BREAKUP RUMORS WITH HUSBAND LUKE Wrightson
The intrigue began on February 18, 2025, when Kaladkaren posted a video of herself on TikTok with meaningful background music.

In the said video, Kaladkaren can be seen emoting while lip syncing KristyLee’s cover song of Ariana Grande’s “We Can’t Be Friends.”

What’s intriguing here are the verses in the song that Kaladkaren used to lip sync.

It’s about the sudden departure of the person she loves.

Here is the verse of the song:

No, I don’t want to hate you, but you chose your pride.

When I needed a hug, you held the knife. But I still wish we had more time.

It must be crazy, right?

In the comments section of Kaladkaren’s TikTok post, many netizens, especially her fans, were worried about the current state of her relationship with her British husband Luke.

One netizen commented (published as is), “What on earth is going on? Is this just content, right?”

Another said, “They’re divorced? They’re just getting married, right?”

Another quipped, “Mom, fix this, we’re all overthinking here.” Other netizens also noticed that Kaladkaren had deleted the photos of her and Luke from Instagram when they were married.

A netizen said (published as is): “checked her IG, her and Luke’s wedding photos are gone.

“Luke’s account is also private. but her IG username is still kaladkaren and her name is still Jervi Wrightson.”

If you visit Kaladkaren’s Instagram account now, you will no longer see her and Luke’s wedding photos.

But their engagement photos and other photos together from their past vacations are still there.

KALADKAREN-LUKE’S WEDDING
Kaladkaren and Luke got married on September 8, 2024, or after almost twelve years of their relationship as lovers.

Their wedding ceremony took place in the ceremonial county of Scarborough, North Yorkshire, in England, where Luke is a resident.

Kaladkaren and Luke’s most recent wedding took place four years after they got engaged. Luke has invited Kaladkaren to his wedding twice. First in 2020.

Kaladkaren announced her engagement to Luke via Instagram on September 9, 2020.

But it is not clear whether that day Is that really their engagement? Luke had a second proposal to Kaladkaren on July 25, 2024.
