Aww! Marian Rivera’s Prank Made Ivana Alawi Cry on Her Birthday

Ivana just got to experience Marian’s stellar acting skills firsthand.

Ivana Alawi had a very special guest on her most recent mukbang vlog. It was none other than her biggest showbiz idol, Primetime Queen Marian Rivera.

The first few minutes of the video went smoothly; however, things took an unexpected turn when Marian expressed, quite irritably, that she didn’t appreciate Ivana being late to their filming. Despite Ivana insisting that she’s usually always on time, the young actress was brought to tears knowing she had disappointed her idol. Little did she know, she was just experiencing firsthand Marian’s stellar acting skills in a prank that was staged by her sister Mona Alawi.

Like most of Ivana’s mukbang videos, she and her guest take turns answering questions while enjoying their meal. Marian and Ivana seemed to get along well for the most part, but things turned sour when Mona asked if there would ever be a chance for Marian and Ivana to star in a movie or TV series together.

Ivana, being a huge fan of Marian, replied enthusiastically, “Ay dzay, baka di ko pa call time nandun na ako.” Marian, in disbelief, confronted Ivana and asked in an annoyed tone, “Bakit late ka kanina? O, sabi mo maaga ka bakit ngayon late ka?”

Before Ivana could explain herself, Marian continued to express how irritated she was that Ivana came to their shoot late, even walking out and saying that she would never collaborate with Ivana again, which led to Ivana bursting into tears.

Surprise, surprise—it was all a prank with none other than Mona being the mastermind. Both she and Ivana look up to Marian, and when the opportunity opened up for Ivana to film her mukbang video with her, Mona also took the chance to get the Rewind actress as an accomplice to prank her big sister as a birthday gift.

“Medyo hesitant si Ate Marian, si Ms. Marian, sa pagpapaiyak ng ate ko. Pero eto po talaga ‘yung love language namin kaya okay lang po talaga. It means we love each other,” said Mona, explaining why she wanted Marian to make Ivana cry. “Super sweet and super nice. Super humble [ni Marian]. Like imagine ganun ka kasikat and successful pero sobrang bait niya parin,” said Mona about Marian, “Ngayon, susungitan niya si ate.”

Marian’s acting was so good that Ivana really thought she had ruined her relationship with her idol. Ever the caring friend, Marian couldn’t help but embrace Ivana and reveal the prank mere seconds after she “walked out.”
