Nora Aunor on why she can’t comment on adopted daughter Lotlot de Leon’s engagement to Lebanese boyfriend: “Sorry po, pero hindi kami nagkikita sa ngayon.”
Nora Aunor, 65, begged off from making a statement about the recent news that her adopted daughter, Lotlot de Leon, 47 got engaged to her Lebanese boyfriend Fadi El Soury.
as no communication with Lotlot at this point in their lives.
“Sorry po, pero hindi kami nagkikita sa ngayon,” said Nora, but did not elaborate why she and Lotlot haven’t seen each other of late.
PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) and other reporters interviewed Nora at the grand media conference for her upcoming GMA-7 prime time series, Onanay.
The Onanay mediacon was held at Le Reve events place in Quezon City last night, July 27, 2018.
It was not clear exactly when Nora last saw her eldest daughter.
But based on PEP.ph’s report dated April 2017, Lotlot was quoted saying that the last time she saw Nora was during the wake of Eddie “Buboy” Villamayor, younger brother of the Superstar.
Lotlot briefly said about her complicated relationship with Nora, “May mga bagay kasi na hindi ko na rin puwedeng ipaliwanag.
“Puwede kong ipaliwanag sa inyo pero hindi naman lahat ng tao makakaintindi.”
ON LOVE AND SHOWBIZ INTRIGUES
As for Nora’s own love life, she said that she’s not in a relationship with anyone at the moment.
Recalling her younger days in show business, Nora jokingly mentioned that the only time she gets in trouble at work was when she was head over heels in love with someone.
How does she handle showbiz intrigues at the time?
Nora replied, smiling, “Ganun din naman. Walang pagkakaiba kung paano hina-handle yung mga intriga noon sa ngayon.”
In her 51 years in show business, the critically-acclaimed actress went on to say that she had survived the toughest controversies.
“Naku, hindi niyo na kailangan tanungin iyan,” Nora exclaimed when prodded about her most unforgettable struggle in the past.
Nangyari na sa akin lahat yun, yung pinakamatindi siguro madalas nangyari sa akin.
“Ang ano ko lang sa sarili ko, ginawan ko ng paraan para makayanan ko lahat yun.”
ADVICE TO YOUNG STARS
What advice can she give to younger stars who go through depression amid the high demands in the industry?
Nora answered, “Maging matatag. Kung anuman ang nangyayaring tsismis sa kanila, dapat hindi na nila pansinsin.
“Puwedeng may mga matitinding mga sira sa isang artista, pero hindi na dapat yun.
“Basta’t ang dapat nilang gawin ay mag-focus na lang sa kung anong pinasukan nilang trabaho.”
Keeping the faith and having a positive attitude are also key to staying long in showbiz, said the legendary actress.
“Unang-una yung sampalataya sa Diyos.
“Dapat huwag nilang kalimutan lumingon sa kung saan sila nanggaling, yun lang yun, kasi nandun na lahat yun, e.
“Yung mga naniwala sa iyo, lalo na yung mga fans, huwag kalimutan.
“Dahil kung wala sila, siguro wala ring Nora Aunor na makikilala.
“At siyempre yung mga press, kasi kung walang press, walang mababasa yung mga tao tungkol sa mga artista.”
