The former President, along with his ex-Presidential Daughter, returned to the Philippines after staying in Hong Kong for a few days for an event there by the Filipino community.
Upon arrival at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 3, Duterte was arrested by operatives of the Philippine National Police and Criminal Investigation and Detection Group.
In an official statement from the Presidential Communications Office, upon Duterte’s arrival in Manila, a prosecutor general from the International Criminal Court (ICC) filed a warrant of arrest in connection with the drug war he implemented during his administration. Through her Instagram story, Kitty posted a photo of her father with the caption “ILLEGAL DETENTION. NO WARRANT OF ARREST.”
Before the arrest of the former president, the PCO confirmed that INTERPOL Manila had received the official copy of the International Criminal Court (ICC) arrest warrant against Duterte.
