Kris, new health updates; ‘cancer free’ but still has fears
The Queen of All Media, Kris Aquino, gave an update on her current health status.
In Kris’ latest Instagram post on Sunday, October 20, she shared that she underwent a lot of tests.
“I had many tests done, including a PET SCAN. Yes, the test normally done to rule out cancer. In my case, after my exhausting chest CT scan as well as a scan below my eyes, (my nose and upper cheeks) to check on my breathing and sinus passages because of my constant headaches and never ending runny nose,” Kris said.
“It was devastating, after my PET Scan I was knocked out. Knocked out from my jetlag and sedation. I could sense something was wrong because my team of doctors didn’t do their normal rounds,” she said.
The next day, Kris was told by her gastroenterologists to start undergoing endoscopy and colonoscopy.
“The abdominal area, specifically my colon area lit up. I’m normally very BRAVE. But I broke down after my doctor left. My nurse and the SLMC nurse saw me and said they had never seen me so sad. My mom’s oncologist had come in, and it felt surreal,” she said.
Her mother, former President Corazon Aquino, was diagnosed with colon cancer in March 2008 before she passed away. Her grandmother, Lola Ma, her mother’s mother, also had the disease.
“I share the same blood type as my Lola Ma and my mom,” Kris revealed. “Brother Josh and Bimb also have the same blood type. It’s hard to message my sisters with my news. All 5 of us share the same blood type as our mom.”
That’s why Kris was so grateful when one of her doctors told her that she was cancer-free.
“THANK YOU,” said the Queen of All Media. “I know you’ve been praying but I didn’t reveal what else specifically you were praying for. But God is listening even when we’re not specific because He sees what’s in our hearts.”
Kris also said that she is now free from tuberculosis, which she was previously afraid of.
“But there were numerous dots, possibly scarring, in my right lung most likely from my being a Covid Long Hauler from late June 2024 up to August 2024 and from my EGPA (my 3rd of 5 diagnosed autoimmune disorders),” she added.
Despite the good news, it is still not clear that his life is out of danger due to his 6 possible autoimmune diseases
According to him, “The scary part is that 3 of the diagnosed ones are life-threatening in other words- can damage my vital organs or my blood vessels, specifically, my artery connecting my lungs to my heart to the extent that I can die immediately from a stroke or aneurysm or cardiac arrest.”
But just as he promised himself, he said he would not give up. The fight continues!
