Marian Rivera says she had to readjust on set of ‘My Guardian Alien’

Even the Kapuso Primetime Queen had to readjust when she returned to set after a long hiatus.

At the media conference of her upcoming series “My Guardian Alien,” Marian Rivera said that she had to get used to acting again after taking a break to take care of her kids, Zia and Sixto.

“After five years na magbabalik akong soap, ‘di ko alam saan ‘yung anggulo ko, nasaan ‘yung lighting, so nangapa talaga ako,” the actress said.

“Sabi niya echosera daw ako,” she added, pertaining to series director Zig Dulay.

Adding that she was “medyo nahirapan,” Marian said that the whole cast and crew helped her out.

“Parang ang hirap mag-memorize ng lines, pero dahil sa tulong ng mga tao sa paligid ko, naging madali para sa akin ‘yung trabaho ko,” she said.

“Tapos si Direk, hindi ‘yan nagkulang sa akin sa kung ano mga dapat kong ipakitang acting,” she added.

Marian said that it was a challenge to portray her alien character, especially when she had no lines and had to use facial expressions.

She also said that she accepted the project so that her kids would have something to watch and learn from.

“My Guardian Alien” revolves around an alien named 11-1-20-8-5-22-9-12-5. She is contained in a pod, and lands on planet Earth after an accidental crash from outer space.

The alien takes the form of a deceased woman named Katherine. The lives of Katherine’s husband, Carlos (Gabby Concepcion), and their son, Doy (Raphael Landicho) will turn upside down because of the alien.

More cast members include Max Collins, Gabby Eigenmann, Kiray Celis, Arnold Reyes, Tanya Gomez, Caitlyn Stave, Josh Ford, Sean Lucas, Tart Carlos, Christian Antolin, Kirst Viray, and Marissa Delgado.

Turning the series into a children’s book with important life lessons is also in the works.
