Lotlot de Leon’s Message to Kids Who are Adopted: ‘Never Be Ashamed’
For those who are like me, never be ashamed of where you came from and your story,’ says Lotlot de Leon.
Actress Lotlot de Leon posted a powerful message for adopted children.
“So let’s just put this out here already! Yes, I am adopted and yes, I am also human!” says the adopted daughter of Nora Aunor and Christopher de Leon. “I am not a commodity, I am my own person who has feelings too.
I am grateful for many things in my life.”
Lotlot De Leon’s story
Lotlot, who is a mom of four including actress Janine Gutierrez, said that she is grateful for what has been given to her by the people who loved her like their own.
“I am grateful for many things in my life — all the good and bad things. Everything I have been through because those are what molded me to be who I am today! I accept what was and what is! I will keep on moving forward owning this life that was given to me,” she said.
She added: ” For those who are like me, never be ashamed of where you came from and your story!
Continue to live your life because this is 100 percent yours! Love those who truly love you!”
“Oh and please to those who keep on discriminating ADOPTED kids, let go of the bigotry. It’s so unbecoming of a supposed ‘human being’!”
Simplfiying procedures
Lotlot’s message comes days after President Rodrigo Duterte signed the Domestic Administrative Adoption and Alternative Child Care Act last January 6. Under the law, it will simplify the procedures for parents wanting to adopt children easier without the hassle.
A new agency, the National Authority for Child Care (NACC) has been established to work with the Department of Social Welfare and Development.
