It’s Showtime has a new segment that would make you feel kilig and excited. But for the most part, it has been turning people emotional, including Kim Chiu.

The noontime show’s newest segment, “Expecially For You,” opens a way for ex-partners to face each other again while one of them finds a potentially new partner inside the show. Somehow, a ~blind date~ is set during the show, as the ex of the participant describes their former partner to the new dating prospects.

During its December 6, 2023 episode, while Moira Dela Torre‘s, Malaya, is playing, setting the mood during the participants’ moment, Kim was spotted getting emotional and almost in tears. The camera focuses on her as she looks at the participants with much sadness and with what seems to be empathy—perhaps on the exes’ situation or with the song.

This 2023, breakup rumors between Kim and her boyfriend of 12 years, Xian Lim. At first, the actress refuted news separating the two of them and said, “Okay naman kami ni Xi…Mapanlinlang ang showbiz pero maayos naman [kami], masaya naman po.

Later in November 2023, Kim asked for privacy over her relationship status with Xian. “Grabe, sa amin na lang muna yon. We’ll just keep it to ourselves na muna,”

Kim, who is a mainstay host for It’s Showtime has been the center of jokes about her love life. Vice Ganda appears to have been leaving hints about Kim’s relationship status in some episodes. One instance was when Vice asked when Kim would join their “Expecially For You” segment.

But putting aside her intriguing love life, Kim is set to embark on another acting journey that will surely make another mark in Philippine television. She will be leading the Philippine remake of the hit Korean drama, What’s Wrong With Secretary Kim? alongside Paulo Avelino.

Kim and Paulo first worked together as leads in their viral teleserye, Linlang. With the confirmation of their next project together, fans’ anticipation for their newest love team called, KimPauis already off the charts! Their remake is set to air in 2024 under Viu Philippines and Dreamscape Productions.
