Kim Chiu goes viral for Flashlight song

Netizens compare Kim Chiu’s “Flashlight” song number to viral performances of Marian Rivera and Barbie Forteza.

Kim Chiu has become a meme recently for her performance of the song “Flashlight.”

Netizens have been poking fun at her version of the popular song from the 2015 Hollywood movie Pitch Perfect 2.

One viral clip shows that Kim made a shaking movement with her left hand, which she did twice.

The video also pointed out some words that Kim mispronounced. For instance, the line that goes: “In the dark I found / I lost hope that I won’t fly”

However, the ABS-CBN actress sang: “In the dark I found / I soup that I won’t fly.”

The netizen who shared the video via Twitter wrote in the caption: “another clip of Kim Chiu telling Marian Rivera and Barbie Forteza to leave the group chat.”

It will be recalled that Marian also became viral in the past for her performance of Rihanna’s “Unfaithful.”

Meanwhile, Barbie became viral for her performance in Party Pilipinas for the launch of her album titled Meron Ba.

The much-talked about clips of Kim’s singing took place during her 10th anniversary and birthday concert held on April 9, 2016. Titled Chinita Princess: The Funtasy Concert, the event was held at the KIA Theater.

Kim became emotional and shed tears while singing the first part of “Flashlight.” Halfway through the song, she shook her left hand and she looked at the left side of the stage, which seems to indicate that she was signaling to someone off-stage.

After performing “Flashlight,” Kim crumpled to the floor as she said with a smile, “Grabe, ang hirap pala mag-concert, ‘no?”

It was during this concert that Xian Lim publicly expressed his love for Kim by saying: “I love you so much. Nothing can take that away.”
