This is the blunt statement of Jay Sonza, 64, on the shooting of the van in which ABS-CBN star Kim Chiu, 29, was riding.
Sonza is a former television and radio broadcaster, who once worked for ABS-CBN but left due to a conflict with the network’s management.
She moved to GMA-7, but later left and became station manager of UNTV. She is no longer in broadcasting.
Kim has been an actress for 14 years under Star Magic, the talent management arm of ABS-CBN.
Some of Kim’s big projects on television are Sana Maulit Muli (2007), My Girl (2008), Tayong Dalawa (2009), Kung Tayo’y Magkakalayo (2010). In all of these, she co-starred with her ex-boyfriend Gerald Anderson.
In other big projects, she co-starred with Enrique Gil, Coco Martin, and Xian Lim, her current boyfriend.
At the height of Kim’s popularity, she became one of the top celebrity endorsers in the country.
On Wednesday morning, March 4, Kim’s van was rained with eight bullets at the corner of Katipunan Avenue and C. P. Garcia Avenue in Quezon City.
Kim was inside the van, along with her driver and personal assistant. None of the three survived and were hit by the bullets.
Based on the police report, Kim’s driver stated that two unknown men on a motorcycle ambushed them.
But for Jay, the ambush was unbelievable.

“Why did the bullet penetrate from right to left window if it was bullet proofed?

Based on Kim’s account, she was so shocked that she “hung up” and her “instinct” worked and continued taping Love Thy Woman, her afternoon series.
She said she called another driver to take her to the taping.
The Kapamilya actress was able to tape two scenes, and it was only then that she gradually realized the disaster that had almost befallen her.
