Juan Karlos overwhelmed by massive turnout at debut solo concert

Juan Karlos Labajo, affectionately known as JK or simply juan karlos, on seeing the huge crowd at his first major concert: “Sobrang weird nito. Ang weird na makita kayong lahat dito… Promise, napaka-weird pa rin sa akin lahat ng ito.”Juan Karlos Labajo, known fondly as JK or simply juan karlos, marked a major milestone in his music career with his first-ever major solo concert, Juan Karlos LIVE, held on November 29, 2023, at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.
The event celebrated 10 years of JK’s journey in the music industry, and thousands of fans gathered to witness his powerful performances, creating an electric atmosphere filled with admiration and excitement.

Among the crowd were JK’s friends from the entertainment industry, there to show their support.
His Senior High and High Street co-star Andrea Brillantes arrived early at the SM MOA Arena.
Celebrity couples Congresswoman Arjo Atayde and Maine Mendoza as well as Matteo Guidicelli and Sarah Geronimo were also seen enjoying at the concert.

JUAN KARLOS OVERWHELMED BY CROWD TURNOUT
The concert opened with JK’s dynamic performance of “Shot Puno” and “Sad Songs and Bullsh*t,” which immediately set the stage for an intense and engaging night.
The 360-degree stage design that allowed fans to see JK from every angle, making them feel closer to the artist.
His lively interaction with the crowd set the tone for the show as he invited them to sing along, “Wag kayong mahiyang sumabay, kaya natin ito,” prompting cheers and applause.
As JK powered through song after song, fans were captivated by his raw and powerful vocals, showing his evolution as an artist.
He spoke candidly about his disbelief at the overwhelming turnout, saying, “Sobrang weird nito. Ang weird na makita kayong lahat dito… Promise, napaka-weird pa rin sa akin lahat ng ito. Sobrang weird––di ko siya gets. There are a lot of people.”

JUAN KARLOS: COLLAB PERFORMANCES
The show was enhanced by a series of collaborations that showcased JK’s versatility and deep connections with fellow artists.
Juan Karlos and Moira dela Torre Janine Berdin, a former Tawag ng Tanghalan champion, rendered her hits “Mahika” and an impressive cover of My Chemical Romance’s “The Black Parade.”
Later, she joined JK on stage for their collaboration “Pancit.”
Moira dela Torre also graced the stage, performing their duet “Medyo Ako,” which was a highlight for fans.
The show continued with Gloc-9, who joined JK for an energetic rendition of “Sampaguita,” and Zild, who performed “Gabi.”
Ben&Ben’s Paolo Benjamin Guico took the stage with JK for a moving performance of “Tapusin Na Natin ‘To.”
Although Kyle Echarri, who collaborated with JK on “Kasing Kasing,” was unable to attend due to a prior commitment, JK playfully addressed his absence, saying, “Hindi ako nagtatampo… Pero seryoso, Kyle can’t make it because of prior commitment––hindi niya kaya mag-commit sa akin. But he did and we did something special and I hope you like it.”

JUAN KARLOS: UNFORGETTABLE MOMENT
One of the most unforgettable highlights of the concert was when JK stepped outside the arena for an unexpected performance.
Following his segment with Moira, JK discreetly set up body harnesses and a camera backstage before making his way outside.

Fans waiting beyond the arena’s walls were in for a delightful surprise as JK performed “Manhid” live, sending waves of excitement through the crowd.

“Maraming salamat sa inyong lahat na nandito ngayong gabi. Maraming maraming salamat,” he said, conveying his sincere appreciation for their unwavering support.
He ended the concert with two of his biggest hits, “Buwan” and “Ere,” leaving the audience singing along, clapping, and cheering for more.
