Kris Aquino, battling serious condition now: ‘I refuse to die’
“I really want to stay alive.” – Kris Aquino
In conjunction with her 53rd birthday, the so-called Queen of all Media, Kris Aquino, was seen live on GMA via Zoom in the episode of Fast Talk with Boy Abunda this Valentine’s Day, February 14.
Here, Kris revealed the current state of her health. It can be recalled that Kris is currently in America for treatment after she developed a rare autoimmune disease followed by various illnesses.
According to Kris, her condition is more serious now and the next six months will not be easy for her.
The former TV host said that she has developed inflammation in her heart, which is an effect of her previous illnesses.
She said, “Our heart is surrounded by muscles to protect the heart. Those muscles that surround my heart, they are very swollen.”
Kris further revealed that next week, a drug will be tried to treat his heart inflammation but he admitted that it will be dangerous.
“On Monday, I will go to the hospital and we will try a biological drug. This is my chance to save my heart because if it doesn’t work, Boy, I stand a very strong chance of having cardiac arrest. As in, if I sleep, or whatever I’m doing, my heart may just stop beating.
“So, there is a drug that will be tried but there’s a very big risk involved with that medicine because this drug is not given without first giving you steroids. You need it so you don’t have anaphylactic shock. On Monday, I will take a baby dose first, they will see if I can handle it.”
He added, “After Monday, I will no longer have immunity. I could be exposed to various diseases. I have no resistance to that.”
Therefore, Kris is once again asking for prayers for everyone so that she can cope with all the medical procedures that will be done to her.
She said, “Now I really want to ask for [prayer]. I’m sorry if my face seems thick, you’ve been praying for me for a long time but I really need it now.”
For Kris, the life she has now is just borrowed but she is ready to fight to continue it.
“I’ve always been very very upfront and honest and I’ve faced it because I know that every day, especially now that it’s my birthday, God just lends it to me. He just gave me a bonus.
“So, whatever days are left, whatever is left, it’s a blessing. But, I really want to stay alive. I mean who’s going to say that I’m ready to die.”
“I refuse to die, my next chapter is to be a stage mother,” Kris said happily.
