“Yes, it’s lonely,” Kris Aquino admitted yesterday in her Instagram post.
She also said she is being questioned about whether she can still fight off her illnesses because she no longer has any resistance to any viral or bacterial infection, which is why she is in the isolation room.
Kris’ post began with “Exactly 2 weeks ago, I had an Ultrasound guided PICC LINE INSERTION, the minimally invasive surgery was done in Makati Medical Center. I would like to thank everyone in MMC for their genuine concern for my safety & wellbeing while confined- from those in the OR, all the doctors & residents who were monitoring me, the nurses on the 9th floor, and the security team- THANK YOU SO MUCH!
“I always try my best to highlight the positive because having 6 autoimmune conditions is depressing (I wasn’t wrong, in my last update I had 5 diagnosed autoimmune disorders, but just like the Pop Mart Care Bears with 6 fillings given to me by my new friends @rouge_and_orange #6 is the supremely punishing RHEUMATOID ARTHRITIS)…”
And then he explained the attached picture of his post : “this picture was taken by my pain management doctor, @rainiertanalgo. In the picture you can clearly see my adopted younger sister immunodermatologist @drkatcee who is stressed with my ever growing list of medicinal and food allergies; partially seen was my excellent vascular surgeon Dr. James Illescas, not pictured is our family’s trusted anesthesiologist Dr. Jonnel Lim who crossed the “border” (again thank you MMC for saying yes to our request) and clearly visible is surgeon Dr. Mike Padlan. (I’ve named him),” she was referring to her boyfriend, a resident surgeon at Makati Med.
But she said that no matter how brave she is and how willing she is to fight, she still thinks about it when the allergies come at the same time, especially since she still has high blood pressure. “No matter how brave I am, there are moments especially when my unexplainable allergies, my lupus (rashes, fever like heat in my entire body, migraine) and rheumatoid arthritis flares (the worst, stabbing/crushing deep bone pain in my knees, hips, ankles) plus my high blood pressure (170/116); I ask myself CAN I STILL DO IT?”
But she said that she doesn’t want to disappoint those praying for her recovery.
“During my hospitalization, my WBC dropped… i also had a bad allergic reaction to the last antibiotic i could still tolerate. What did that mean- I have no resistance to any viral or bacterial infection. I’m now in isolation. So many rules for family & friends who want to visit me. Yes, it’s lonely.
“What keeps me going? I REFUSE TO DISAPPOINT ALL THOSE PRAYING FOR ME. I don’t want you to think I ignored your time & effort. Because your compassion has deeply touched my heart. So #bawalsumuko #tuloyanglaban.”

JC, Gerald is a cap
JC de Vera is happy with the progress of his career, especially since he just signed a new contract with ABS-CBN last week. But he still wants to get rich.
After his Forever Kapamilya contract signing with ABS-CBN, JC announced that he will be seen on television again through the series Nobody.
He will be with Gerald Anderson in the action-drama series that is scheduled to air next year.
“It’s a bit challenging, a bit of a test again for me being an actor. Something that they haven’t seen before and haven’t experienced before with me,” JC said of his new role.
Before this, JC was seen as a doctor in the ABS-CBN and TV5 drama series Nag-aapoy Na Damdamin and he was also in the Philippine adaptation of Flower of Evil in the role of a police detective.
Some of the versatile actor’s notable shows include The Legal Wife, Moon of Desire, You’re My Home, The Better Half, Since I Found You, La Vida Lena, and The General’s Daughter.
“It’s all doable. Then, hopefully before I really get old, I’ll still be able to do it. And I’ll be rich,” said the actor, who will be the father of three.
His wife, who is in the construction business, is pregnant with their third baby. “‘My wife is into the construction business. They have their family construction business for a long time. Then I’m on the side, I do construction contracts too. But theirs is more on residential, commercial, design and build construction contracts, that’s what they do. As for me, I’m called a contractor. So, I get the contracts from everyone,” the actor told us in a small group interview a few days ago.
Anyway, he really looks forward to every time he signs a new contract with ABS-CBN.
“You’re worried, but when I sign, everyone is happy because you know there’s a lot to do. So on average, I do one teleserye a year. So if it’s two years, I do two,” he continued.
He said he understands why he only does one teleserye a year. “It’s just that after the pandemic, what happened with ABS, of course the projects that are being done within the network are very selective.
“So, the transition of artists getting projects, there aren’t as many as before the pandemic. Because before, I could do like two teleseryes, one in the afternoon, one in the evening. So it’s a full schedule, I work seven times a week. But now, the network’s preparation is given so much importance, the production of a teleserye. So, it will run for like five months or six months, I guess. Then after that, you’re gonna do a month of promos.”
Anyway, this isn’t the first time that JC will work with Gerald. “Well this is the second time. The first one was a movie that was 2017 I think. The horror movie he did with Julia Montes. Kiss in the Wind.”
And he immediately praised Gerald. “Because, I call him Cap. Because, Cap for Captain. Because, working with him, Gerald’s leadership is really okay. So, when he has a project going on, expect him to lead the show.
“He will lead the people. He’ll set the tone for us all. Just so you know, beautiful, let’s all focus on what we need to do. That’s how he is.
