Taylor Swift reacts to engagement of best friend Selena Gomez

Following the engagement of her best friend, Selena Gomez, Taylor Swift shared a reaction to the news on social media.

In the Instagram post of Selena announcing her engagement to music producer Benny Blanco, the “Love Story” singer wrote: “Yes I will be the flower girl.”

Taylor and Selena have been the best of friends for a long time.

In an interview with Vanity Fair back in October, Selena offered a glimpse into her friendship with Taylor. The “Who Says” singer described Taylor as a big sister to her.

She also mentioned that every now and then, they discuss the industry, with Selena asking for advice from Taylor on music or navigating new friendships that come with their fame. Most of the time, however, their conversations revolve around the usual gossip shared between friends and often trading thoughts on the reality series Vanderpump Rules.

The two pop stars first me in 2008 when they were dating the members of the Jonas Brothers.

“It was amazing, because she was the girl with the big curly hair and all the bracelets and the cowboy boots. And I was definitely up-and-coming, and we just clicked. It was the best thing we got out of those relationships,” Selena said on meeting Taylor for the first time in 2008 in a past interview with KISS FM UK.

Selena confirmed her engagement to Benny on Thursday, December 12 (PH time).

The two previously collaborated on Selena’s tracks “Single Soon” and “I Can’t Get Enough.”

Back in December 2023, Selena revealed on social media that she was dating Benny. At the time, the actress revealed that she was dating the music producer for six months already.

She also commented on a fan account that time saying: “He is my absolute everything in my heart.”

In a previous interview with TIME, Selena shared what she admires most about her boyfriend saying: “He has such strength in him that none of that noise fazes him. It’s really impressive, and I just cherish every moment with him. I don’t know what the future holds, but I do know that he’s not going anywhere any time soon.”
