Paulo Avelino shares the importance of compliments in helping a person going through a dark time.
Actor Paulo Avelino has described himself as a man of few words, but he certainly knows the importance of kind words to someone who’s going through a hard time in life.
During Mentos Philippines’ launch of their new product line Mentos CompliMentos last November 9, Paulo shared how speaking kind words can make a positive impact on someone’s life.
He said, “For me, more than the compliments, it’s the [importance] of saying something good. Anything nice that you would say could make a huge impact not just on a day but in their life. It will not just help them with their self-esteem but it will also brighten up their life.”
Paulo added, “You could always find something in a person, whether it’s physical or not, I think it would make a great impact because you can never know what a person’s going through. Maybe they’re having a rough day, may na-stuck sila sa traffic…ang daming nagyayari sa Pilipinas ‘eh. So those small compliments would actually make an impact.”
The actor also emphasized the need to have a healthy lifestyle to maintain a positive outlook in life.
“If you have a positive and healthy lifestyle, it will show, not just in your look but in your whole aura. That inspires other people actually,” Paulo said.
The actor made headlines recently after opening up on Instagram about battling suicidal thoughts.
