Honeylet Avancena, PNP to file direct assault complaint

The Philippine National Police (PNP) will file a direct assault complaint against Honeylet Avanceña for allegedly assaulting a female member of the Special Action Force (SAF).
Avanceña is the common-law wife of former President Rodrigo Duterte.

In a panel discussion attended by PNP and Department of Justice (DOJ) officials at Malacañang Palace this Thursday, March 13, 2025, a video of Avanceña hitting one of the arresting officers on the head with the cellphone she was holding was shown.
The video shows Avanceña and her daughter Kitty Duterte surrounded by arresting officers as former President Duterte was taken to a plane that would take him to The Hague, Netherlands.
The PNP also released photos of the arresting officer receiving treatment.
These photos show a large lump on the arresting officer’s forehead.
The alleged assault by Avanceña on the arresting officer occurred on Tuesday, March 11, the day Duterte was arrested at Terminal 3 of the Ninoy Aquino International Airport.
Avanceña and his camp have yet to comment on the complaint that the PNP will file against him.
GENERAL TORRE ON ARRESTING DUERTE
During the panel discussion, CIDG Chief Major Gen. Nicolas Torre III said that Duterte refused to use a wheelchair when he was arrested.
Torre also confirmed that Avanceña allegedly pushed him and that Kitty Duterte, the youngest daughter of the former President, insulted him.
The viral video of Duterte’s arrest shows Kitty cursing Torre on March 11 — which also happened to be the 55th birthday of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group chief.

In an interview, Torre said that he understands Duterte’s 20-year-old youngest daughter because she’s still young.
The CIDG chef said: “That’s okay. I’ve seen worse.” That’s why my skin is thick, she’s used to being cheap, eh
“Natural, let’s give it to her. She’s still young, she’s still young.
“She’ll understand a lot more about the world when the time comes.”
It’s not just the video of Kitty cursing Torre that’s going viral because videos of the confrontation between Torre and Duterte’s family, lawyers, and security when the former President was arrested are also going viral.
In a video, Honeylet Avanceña can be heard pleading with Torre to wait for the former President’s daughter, Vice-President Sara Duterte.
“Give me a chance. Bring some stuff.
“It’s terrible, it’s deprivation, it’s abuse. Just let them see their father.
“Eighty years old,” Avancena said, referring to the former President’s age.
But Torre insisted that the other children of the former President, including their belongings, would not be able to come because they would not be allowed into the Villamor Airbase. In a video, Torre’s patience seems to be running out because their allotted time has passed, and Duterte’s associates are still preventing the police from taking the former President.
Torre can be seen repeatedly saying: “I’ll pull that! I’ll pull that. Oh, believe me, I’ll pull that!”
