Will Gladys Reyes and Christopher Roxas allow their kids to pursue showbiz?

For celebrity couple Gladys Reyes and Christopher Roxas, show business is something that their kids can explore, but studies need to remain a priority.

“As long as hindi masa-sacrifice ‘yung studies nila. Alam mo, cliché na ‘yun kung pakinggan pero gusto naming panindigan ‘yun eh. Kasi sa totoo lang,  totoo ‘yung in the middle ng pag-aaral mag-aartista, tatamarin eh,” Gladys explained in an interview with PUSH Bets.

The actress went on: “Siyempre kapag nakaranas na ng siyempre hindi lang kumikita tapos mapupuyat na, tatamarin ng pumasok sa school kasi marami ng na-miss. Ayoko mangyari sa kanila yun.”

Glady admitted that she and Christopher both regret not being able to finish their studies, and they don’t want their kids to experience the same thing.

“Para sa amin, siyempre we were not able to finish [our studies], [isa ‘yun sa] kumbaga regret namin na we were not able to finish school. Pero ‘yung education lagi naming sinasabi sa mga anak namin, hangga’t kaya naming ibigay sa kanila ay mag-aral sila. Kasi siyempre ‘pag well-educated ka, kahit saan ka ilagay, magsu-survive ka. Kaya ‘yun lang naman ang isa sa lagi naming binibilin sa mga anak namin,” she highlighted.

The couple’s eldest son, Christophe Roxas, is now a recording artist under Star Music. He is also a sophomore student at the University of the Philippines.

“We believe na he is in good hands… and nakikita ko rin ‘yung creativity ni Christophe is nagagammit ’cause he writes his own songs,” the actress said.

“Siguro for now music muna, recording na lang muna, kasi sophomore siya sa UP. Sila rin naman, the persons we are working with, very particular din sila sa studies na huwag mapabayaan,” she stated.

Gladys and Christopher are also entrepreneurs, and financial literacy is something that they pass on to their kids.

“Kung ano ‘yung natutunan ko, tinuturo ko kaagad sa kanila. Sinasabi ko sa kanila na hindi namin kayo investment, matuto ka diyan, lalo na [para] kaya nilang mag-handle ng sarili nilang pera,” Christopher said in the same interview.
