Iya Villania Bashed For ‘Delikado’ House; Her Chill Response Is Why Parents Look Up To Her
We stan a chill momma! Plus, Iya said the place might be open for guests soon!Iya Villania recently shared photos of the second-floor area of their new Casa Arellano in Taytay, Rizal. She and Drew Arellano have been calling it a tiny home and said that it’s not meant to be lived in, and we finally understand why.
On March 10, the host and mom of four wrote, “Just the right accents to make the place pretty. [N]othing too fancy or too delicate for a house designed for kids, but still definitely something pretty to complement the design.”

She added, “Btw, this is all there is on the 2nd [floor] of the house. No rooms.”

While Iya friends loved the tiny house and open concept, several netizens shared their concerns with some of the features and concluded that maybe the house is not designed for kids after all.
Iya Villania bashed for house design
One user asked Iya, “From second deck hndi po ba tatalon kids sa open area sa hagdan?”

She replied, “What’s great about the place is that it’s so small you know what the kids are up to. [W]hen you can trust your kids and trust their own judgment, you learn to be a little more chill about things. [A]lso, those beds were placed there just for the sake of design. You can move those beds around according to how you want.”
“[In] whatever space you have, as a mother, you will always manage to make things work.”
However, some were not satisfied with Iya’s explanation, saying “it’s not about trust, it’s about precaution.”

Iya then explained, “Then as you would in any space that is not your home, you make the necessary changes and move things around, right? [In] whatever space you have, as a mother, you will always manage to make things work.”

Iya maintained that the second floor of the house was designed for napping and resting and that the space for active play is the spacious playground outside.
Iya was referring to this playground.

Another user meanwhile aired her concern about Iya and Drew’s only daughter Alana. “Nice while they’re kids. Pag nag dalaga na si Duday, she may need a little privacy na.”
To which Iya replied, “This house is not for individual privacy. Unless you’re on the toilet.”
Amid the negative feedback, there were a few who trust Iya’s judgment, saying, after all, it’s their house. “I like your place. Kumbaga kung ano lang talaga yung kailangan yun lang nilagay especially with four kids mas madali mag maintain ng ganyang place. Regarding sa concerns nila sa railings at kama though valid naman pero ang lawak ng play area nyo I doubt kung maisipan pa nila umakyat sa 2nd flr. Tatambayan yan sa taas kung mga teens na yan.” Iya replied to this comment with a thumbs up and a fist bump in approval.
Families may experience Casa Arellano – soon!
Iya updated her post today, March 11, to assure her followers that their concerns are valid. She even revealed the possibility that their house may soon be open for guests – after they have tested it!
“There are things you only discover as you use the place which is why my family and I are testing it out first before we let YOU GUYS use it too.”
She said, “I understand the anxiety the railings, bed, and windows bring, and to address the anxiety, [please] note that these beds were set up this way only for the sake of these pictures. [T]hese are stackable beds and will be set up according to the request of the user/family.”
“[W]hen we use these beds, it’s only one layer and super wide to accommodate all 6 of us (since we co-sleep). And for the windows, I guess my children know not to climb out. I’d like to believe your children would know not to as well, and if in the future I see it does become a problem, then I will make the changes necessary.”
She added, “The house really is tiny (48sqm) so it’s easy to see if the kids are up to some monkey business. Also, the upstairs was really more designed for napping and resting so the playground is the place for active play. As with any new house, there are things you only discover as you use the place which is why my family and I are testing it out first before we let YOU GUYS use it too.”
Whoaaaaa. Okay, that settles it! We can’t wait to visit Casa Arellano and bring our kids!
