President Bongbong Marcos Unbothered Over Showtime Contestant’s COMELEC Interview

This is what President Bongbong Marcos said regarding the viral interview of It’s Showtime contestant Heart Aquino.

On Thursday, Malacañang revealed the reaction of President Bongbong Marcos to the viral remark of Heart Aquino about COMELEC.

Heart Aquino, a “Showtime” contestant, recently went viral after admitting that she has limited knowledge about the Commission on Elections (COMELEC). The interview with Vice Ganda raised questions and sparked discussions online.

It created a loud buzz that the COMELEC even reached out to her. She was invited by the COMELEC to visit their office for a guided tour and to be enlightened about the significance and functions of the poll body. After the visit, Aquino finally had a better grasp of its importance and explained that during her moment on TV, she suffered a mental block, hence her response.

She also asked the public to stop bashing her without knowing the real reason behind what transpired in the noontime show.

On Thursday, the Palace reacted to the issue, and accordingly, the matter did not bother President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. The president believed that the incident was not a reflection of the country’s failure in terms of improving the poor educational system.

Palace Press Officer Claire Castro stressed the president’s reaction stemmed from knowing that the government is doing everything to provide quality education to the people.

Castro added that while the government is continuing their efforts to refine the country’s education system, the youth must also do their part in making themselves socially aware of society and the issues that the country is encountering.
“The way we look at it, maybe one person’s shortcomings will not immediately reflect the government’s lack of efforts to raise the level of our education,”she said.
