Kris Aquino thanks Duterte for acknowledging that Marcos killed Ninoy
Kris Aquino expressed her gratitude to President Rodrigo Duterte for acknowledging that Ferdinand Marcos was behind the assassination of her father, Benigno “Ninoy” Aquino Jr.
“Thank you for acknowledging our family’s loss, and who was behind it. Thank you, Mr. President,” Kris said.
In a speech in Davao City on Friday, Duterte said that Cory only became popular because her husband died at the hands of the former dictator.

i still admire your authenticity President Duterte, but please allow a daughter to speak through this post? Because of the many good things I have heard from Duterte supporters & members of government about you, they all say, pic.twitter.com/sGeRIfvv9k

The assassination of Ninoy signaled the EDSA Revolution in 1986 that ousted Marcos and ended martial law in the country.
Thank you for acknowledging our family’s loss, and who was behind it. Thank you, Mr. President. 🇵🇭

Kris said she admires the President’s ‘authenticity’ while sharing a tribute video of Cory on Twitter with “Tie a Yellow Ribbon” background music.
Duterte is known to be close to the Marcoses, having given permission to bury the former dictator’s remains at the Libingan ng mga Bayani in 2016.
During his 2019 SONA, Kris also stated that he might meet the Marcoses halfway if they accept the mistakes of the past.
