What Kris Aquino and James Yap have in common aside from being parents to Bimby
After all that’s been said, is there neutral ground for Kris Aquino and James Yap?
Airing their disenchantment with each other, former couple Kris Aquino and James Yap have been hogging the headlines lately.
Kris said her fight is for the welfare of their 11-year-old son Bimby.
It’s been six years since their 2005 civil wedding had been annulled, and there was even a time when they were on speaking terms.
In 2015, Bimby’s parents were both present during his first Holy Communion.
Kris also allowed Bimby and her eldest son Josh to join the birthday celebration of James’s partner Michela Cazzola in 2016.
Kris and James had once dated, fell in love, and been married for seven years.
Their son was the strongest glue, and certainly the most significant, there must be other things that bonded Kris and James together all those years.
Digging further, PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) discovers they do have things in common aside from being parents to Bimby, beginning with their birth signs.
1. They share the same birth month. In fact, Kris and James’ birthdays are only one day apart.
Kris was born on Valentine’s Day, February 14, 1971.
James was born 11 years later, on February 15, 1982.
2. They are both business-minded. We all know Kris as one of the top endorsers of the country.
Even without a regular show airing on national television, she was able to rebuild her empire and thrive using the digital platform. Thus, she continues to rake in endorsements left and right.
Years ago, Kris also started investing her money in business ventures.
At present, she is the president of Nacho Bimby, which has a partnership with Potato Corner. The Potato Corner + Nacho Bimby franchise now has 11 branches in the metro.
Kris also co-owns two franchise branches of ChowKing, and has a production company under her name, the Kris Cojuangco Aquino (KCA) Productions.
Meanwhile, James has been playing in the Philippine Basketball Association since 2004.
He also endorses several brands and has invested in businesses as well.
He is part-owner of the bar District 8 Manila, and president of Mototechnik Philippines, a shop importing Italian brands of motorcycles and scooters here in the Philippines.
James is also a partner at Big Boys General Contractors Inc., together with former San Juan Vice Mayor Francis Zamora and Architect Glen Malig. 3. They both love the finer things in life. Kris’s name is old-rich, but she also worked hard to grow her wealth.
She can’t be faulted for her penchant for luxury—rose quartz kitchen counters, nothing less for her.
The pro basketball player James, for his part, has posted photos and videos of himself indulging his need for speed on high-end motorcycle brands BMW and Harley Davidson.
The two-time MVP awardee also loves watches. Among his pricey timepieces is an Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore 25940SK.OO.D002CA.01. And, of course, expensive rubber shoes.
4. They both love to travel. Kris has shared her travel adventures, both for work and for family vacations, with her fans. She has listed Hawaii and Japan among her favorite destinations.
James has gone to Hong Kong, Macau, and Singapore. Locally, he has been to Boracay and Siargao.
The ex-couple have also both been to Italy, although separately.
James toured the European country with his Italian partner Michela and their son MJ.
Kris went with friends for a pilgrimage, but it is also where she had a rendezvous with ex-boyfriend Herbert Bautista, who proposed to her a second time in Rome. Kris turned down the proposal.
5. They both love the kitchen. Kris loves to cook, and many of her friends and guests from her former TV show Kris TV have attested to her talent in the kitchen. Among Kris’s specialties are twice-cooked adobo, cheesy spaghetti, and kaldereta.
James, a meat-eater based on his Instagram posts, makes steaks for home dinner.
He has also documented the first time he baked banana bread with cream cheese filling.
