Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) summoned the producer of Kapamilya noontime show It’s Showtime for the alleged inappropriate gesture that celebrity couple Vice Ganda and Ion Perez did in one of the recent episodes.
Vice and Ion started being open about their relationship when they officially announced that they are together as a couple. They would sometime flex each other on their social media pages.
It can be seen that their co-hosts in the noontime show are very supportive of their relationship. Fans of the celebrity couple are also fond of pointing out the sweetness that they have for each other.

In one of the recent episodes, Vice Ganda and Ion Perez had their sweet moment. Ion had an icing cake and he scooped the icing with his finger and slowly put it in his mouth.
Ion offered the icing from his finger to Vice. The comedian-host scooped the icing that was on Ion’s finger. This did not sit well with social media personality Rendon Labador.
Through a social media post, Rendon said that Vice and Ion’s gesture during that episode should not be allowed to be part of the It’s Showtime’s portion about children. That cake scene happened during the Isip Bata segment.
In line with this issue, MTRCB chairperson Diorella “Lala” Sotto-Antonio released a “Notice to Appear and Testify” to the producer of the show, based on the article in Inquirer.
It was said that the show’s producer was told to explain that viral scene that Vice Ganda and Ion Perez did.
“Said scene is in violation of Section 3 (c) Presidential Decree No. 1986. The hearing date is scheduled on 31 July 2023, 10:00 am at the MTRCB Office in Timog Avenue, Quezon City,” the statement that was released on Monday stressed.
As of the writing, It’s Showtime has not released yet a statement to answer MTRCB’s petition.
