SC dismisses Deniece Cornejo’s charges versus Vhong Navarro and this is the actor’s reaction.

VHONG NAVARRO – It’s Showtime host Vhong Navarro acquitted of cases filed by famous personality Deniece Cornejo.

Last September 2022, It’s Showtime host Vhong Navarro faced an arrest warrant issued by Taguig Metropolitan Court for acts of lasciviousness. This is regarding the cases model Deniece Cornejo filed against him.

The Court of Appeals ordered the Taguig City prosecutor’s office. The actor surrendered and paid the recommended bail worth Php 36,000.00.

However, in a separate warrant, he was summoned again for r4pe charges. This charge is non-bailable and it ultimately put him in jail. He stayed there for several months but was allowed to bail out for Php 1 million due to the inconsistencies found in Cornejo’s statements.

His trial started this year but before they could even reach far, the Supreme Court’s Third Division ordered the dismissal of the cases based on a previous article. Accordingly, Cornejo’s accounts against Navarro are “manifestly inconsistent and highly deficient, doubtful, and unclear.”

“He is very happy about the decision of the Supreme Court,” Mallonga said.

As a lawyer, Atty. Mariglen Abraham-Garduque said that she is also happy with the decision and for her client. His freedom is now permanent and no longer temporary. she helped Navarro in his petition for bail.

She expressed, “I am very happy for Vhong also. At least now everything will be put into rest. His liberty shall be considered permanent and not temporary anymore.”
