Vhong Navarro has this reaction after the court sided with him once again

Taguig Regional Trial Court (Taguig RTC) Branch 69 denied model Deniece Cornejo’s appeal to cancel the bail granted to Kapamilya star Vhong Navarro.

In a decision dated January 12, the court dismissed Deniece’s motion for reconsideration. The model’s camp tried to pursue the court to cancel Vhong’s bail. It was on December 5 when the court allowed the actor-host to post bail.

He acquired his temporary freedom after he paid P1 million. Deniece’s camp did not stop their effort in order for Vhong to be detained but this was not granted by the court.

In the decision that was released, based on the article in The Philippine Star, it was stated that “At the outset, a perusal of the instant motion readily reveals the absence of any conformity from the Office of the City Prosecutor of Taguig City (OCP-Taguig). Time and again, the Supreme Court has emphasized that criminal actions shall be prosecuted under the direction and control of the prosecutor.”

“Thus, when the public prosecutor does not give his or her conformity to the pleading of a party, the party does not have the required legal personality to pursue the case. In this case, there is no conformity from the public prosecutor. Since the Motion to Reconsider pertains to the presentation of the prosecution’s evidence, it involves the criminal aspect of the case and, thus, cannot be considered without the public prosecutor’s conform,” the statement added.

The decision also stressed that Deniece’s motion for reconsideration was “denied for lack of merit.”

After knowing this court’s decision through his lawyer Mariglen Abraham-Garduque, Vhong Navarro said, “Thanks God.” “We are very happy with the resolution of the court on the motion,” the lawyer said.

After he was granted his temporary freedom, Vhong bonded with his family, as well as with his close friends in the entertainment industry. As of this writing, it is not yet sure when the actor-host will come back to It’s Showtime.
