Kim Chiu turns emotional in acceptance speech at Seoul Int’l Drama Awards

Kim Chiu turned emotional during her speech upon receiving her Most Outstanding Asian Star trophy at the Seoul International Drama Awards on Wednesday, September 25 held in South Korea.

“I am truly overwhelmed to be standing here tonight with pride and honor,” she remarked. “I want to express my gratitude to these incredible people who made this moment possible.”

The Kapamilya star went on to thank ABS-CBN, Star Magic, Lauren Dyogi, Dreamscape, and the team and her co-stars in the hit series Linlang.

“Without your hard work, guidance, passion, vision, none of this will be possible. I share this honor with every single one of you,” she said.


Kim also expressed her gratitude to her fans saying: “And to my ever-loving supportive fans, this award is also for you. Your unconditional love, efforts, and belief in me have always been my source of strength and for that I’m truly grateful.”

She also honored the late Dreamscape head Deo Endrinal.

“I want to dedicate this honor to the person who is no longer with us, my boss, my mentor, and a dear friend sir Deo,” she stated.

Kim recalled how the late Kapamilya executive encouraged her to become the best she could possibly be.

“He was the one who always pushed me to be my best and he was the one who always guided me to do the best that I can be through hard work led with kindness,” the Kapamilya star remarked.

“I wouldn’t be standing here tonight without your trust and guidance and opportunities you gave me.”

Kim also thanked the award giving body for giving her the recognition.

“To Seoul Drama International Awards. Thank you for this recognition this is a dream come true for me to represent ABS-CBN and my country Philippines,” she stated.

The Outstanding Asian Star Award was decided through a global poll on the Idol Champ app, with voting held from June 15 to July 14.

Other stars who received the Outstanding Asia Stars Award include Byeon Woo-seok and Kim Hye-yoon from Korea, Win Metawin from Thailand, Siti Saleha from Malaysia, Desmond Tan from Singapore, and Ochi Rosdiana from Indonesia.
