Jessy Mendiola proves that she’s a mother who won’t let people throw rude comments about her unica hija, Isabella Rosie Manzano. Like any mother out there, she’s a fighter for her daughter.

Days ago, the actress-mom had a strong exchange with an online citizen who left a very unwanted comment in one of the mother-daughter’s Instagram videos. The video, uploaded by Jessy’s hubby Luis Manzano, showed her and Rosie dancing to the song, “Beautiful Day.” TBH, it was a very cute and charming video that deserved nothing but fun comments too.

However, one comment ruined the atmosphere. It read, “Parang ang payat ng bby nila [insert rolling eyes emoji here]” Jessy did not hold back and responded to the netizen.

“2024 na but here you are still commenting on other people’s bodies,” Jessy reacted. Some followers also followed suit and defended Jessy’s daughter. Some said that no one should be concerned about someone’s kid’s body. Moreover, being a “skinny” kid does not mean that the child is unhealthy. True enough though, we must know by now that everyone has different body types.

There was another comment from Jessy that drew attention from her followers. In another one of their posts, someone criticized Rosie’s eyebags.  “Grabe, bakit ganyan yang bata? Wala pang two years old pero ang eyebags pang-80 years old na,” the comment read.

Jessy response to it was snarky and full of emotions as a mother. She explained that the eyebags are something that comes from their Lebanese genes. And more importantly, the commenter should first check themselves before rudely talking about someone’s appearance like that.

The actress-mom called out the online user by saying, “Nasa lahi namin na may eyebags talaga kasi half-Lebanese. Kalmahan ang paglait sa bata. Iayon po natin ang ganda sa panlalait. Tingnan niyo po muna sarili niyo sa salamin.”

Jessy Mendiola on being a mother

It wasn’t the first time that Jessy defended her daughter from unwanted comments. In a February 2023 report by Smart Parenting, Jessy had once cried foul against people who insinuated that her daughter has a cleft lip. At the time, the Manzano couple hasn’t publicized their daughter’s face just yet. Rosie, born in December 2022, was just about two months old only back then.

Jessy posted an Instagram story that read, “It is NEVER okay to spread FAKE news. It is NEVER ok to spread negativity about having a cleft palate/lip. Respetuhin sana natin ‘yung totoong may ganito.” This came after several YouTube videos falsely reported that Rosie’s face was still hidden from the public because of a cleft lip. The couple even urged everyone to report the malicious YouTube videos.

Ever since she became a mom, Jessy has been a hands-on one. She has been on top of her daughter’s milestones and breakthroughs, especially now that she’s a toddler. But motherhood does not also stop Jessy from moving forward in her career. As a matter of fact, this 2024 she signed her new contract as an actress with the ABS-CBN Network.
