Jericho Rosales and Janine Gutierrez are dating each other! That’s what the actor confirmed to members of the press on Tuesday, August 13, 2024.

This comes months after the two were confirmed to be leading the upcoming teleserye Lavender Fields. This is also the first time that Echo talked about Janine and their existing rumored romance. It’s been a while since the two were spotted seemingly casually going out together.

But now, the speculations have been confirmed by Echo himself. “Yeah, we find each other fun to be with… hanging out,” he said in a video uploaded on X (formerly Twitter).

In a report by ABS-CBN News, the actor lightly responded to the queries and revealed that he gradually realized how into Janine he is after accepting to star in Lavender Fields.

“Yes, we’re going out. […] I first decided to join the project because I was so into the production team and everyone and then I realized I was so into her,” Echo said. The Cosmopolitan Philippines cover star also made sure to praise the fellow Kapamilya actress in all ways he could think of at the moment.

Dating stages should be fun, and it’s all about getting to know each other. With Echo’s revelations, he puts a positive note out there that things are great at the moment between him and Janine. “We’ll see, we shall see. You expect good things about it. It’s really, really nice and happy…things are great. There’s no negativity around. It’s fun, you gotta enjoy this fire, flame, whatever it is,” he added.

In case you haven’t heard—yes—there has been some buzz going around romantically linking Echo and Janine. Reports were made that the two were spotted having “casual dates” around the Metro. That’s also because Janine and Echo posted almost matchy snaps of their recent to the museum!

Weeks ago, Janine posted an Instagram dump of some photos she took from her recent museum visit. Her caption was, “Current camera roll.” It included photos of the art displayed at the National Museum in Manila, some portraits of her, and some candid snaps of her strolling around.

In her post, Janine’s mother, Lotlot de Leon commented, “Ah excuse me po.. Sino po kasama mo nagpunta dyan? Hmmmm…” Her comment gave the notion that she was not aware of Janine’s whereabouts‚ in the funniest way, of course. But it attracted more attention because of Jericho’s response to Lotlot’s comment!

Echo, being the *naturally* funny guy he is, replied to Lotlot saying, “[waving hand emojis] Nag-door bell po ako para magpaalam pero hinabol ako ng aso eh.”

The actor’s comment appeared to be a confirmation that he was with Janine visiting the museum. Well, true enough, just recently, Echo also posted some museum snaps—it was as if the two really went on a date—and now it appears that they really were!

As for Lotlot, well, she recently also said in an interview with PEP, that she trusts her Janine’s dating decisions. She mentioned that if Janine wants to get married already, she’s all for it. “Well, alam mo, basta ako, kung nakikita ko na tinatrato yung anak ko nang maayos, na may respeto, na aalagaan siya nang mabuti at mamahalin at magiging tapat, bakit hindi?” she started. “Nasa marrying age na siya, if she finds the right man for her, na with all the qualifications na hinahanap niya, bakit hindi? Again, I trust my daughter’s decision,” she continued.
