IT’S SHOWTIME SUSPENDED – These are the violations committed, additional warnings, and dismissed complaints of the show.

MTRCB suspended It’s Showtime for 12 days because of the alleged indecent acts of its hosts which happened during an episode. ABS-CBN released a statement and said that they would file a Motion for Reconsideration as they maintain they have not violated pertinent law.

IT’S SHOWTIME SUSPENSION – The Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) issued a decision to suspend the Kapamilya program.

Issued on Monday, September 4, is the decision of the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) to suspend the Kapamilya noontime show It’s Showtime. This program is currently being aired on GTV and other channels and online platforms.

MTRCB suspended Showtime for 12 airing days because of its July 25, 2023 episode.

To recall, last July, MTRCB issued a summon to the producers of Showtime due to “alleged indecent acts” by hosts Vice Ganda and Ion Perez. In the said episode, the real-life couple shared a cake and Vice was seen scooping an amount from Ion’s fingers before putting it into his own mouth.

Multiple complaints before the MTRCB were noted regarding the said episode.

As stated in the document, two additional warnings have been issued to the show.

Case no. 1: Hosts Jhong Hilario and Vice Ganda uttered the word “G Spot” on the January 24, 2023 episode of the show which violated Section 2 (B), Chapter IV of the Implementing Rules and Regulations of Presidential Decree (P.D.) No. 1986.

Case no. 2: Host Vhong Navarro uttered the word “Tinggil” on the June 3, 2023 episode of the show violating Section 2 (B), Chapter IV of the Implementing Rules and Regulations of P.D. No. 1986.

Prior warnings

MTRCB warned the show when the word “Pek Pek Shorts” was uttered in the January 9, 2023 episode of the program.
Kim Duenas’s indecent attire and performance on “Girl on Fire” aired on February 14, 2023, also received complaints.

Dismissed complaints due to lack of merit

When the hosts played a game during the “Rampanalo” segment where they had to catch the money using their lips

When someone did a macho dancing in one of their segments
When a wardrobe malfunction happened to one of the performers
When one of the hosts inappropriately wore Barong Tagalog in the show
