KC Concepcion To Sharon Cuneta: ‘I will strive to make you proud’
The actress publicly greeted her mom on Mother’s Day despite being estranged.
“Trust in the way you raised me—I will always strive to make you proud and feel that having me was worth it,” she continued. “I love you. I wish I could give you the world, so you wouldn’t have to worry about anything for another second. Happy Mother’s Day, Mama!”
KC is Sharon’s daughter with her former husband, Gabby Concepcion. It can be recalled that the ex-couple had a publicized reunion concert last year called “Dear Heart” where KC appeared as a special guest.
In recent years, the actress has been open to the public about her struggles as a child of a broken family. KC said in an interview with Boy Abunda last year that she’s been a good daughter who genuinely loves her family and believes they’ll overcome their personal problems one day.
KC Concepcion and Sharon Cuneta are estranged
In a recent interview with TV5’s MJ Marfori, Sharon admitted that she and her eldest daughter are having problems.
“Pati mga anak ko tulad sina Frankie… My God, they’re kids. Wala silang ginagawa. Ano man ang problema namin ng panganay ko because at this point, we’re estranged. And I’m very, very hurt,” shared Sharon, when she was asked asked a series of questions about the cyber libel complaint she filed against showbiz columnist Cristy Fermin.
“But there are things na, tama na ‘yun. Amin na lang. Kahit bali-baliktarin mo ang mundo, mahal mo pa rin ang anak mo. So tiis-tiis na lang muna. Dadating ang point na ayoko nang isiksik ang sarili ko sa anak ko,” she explained.Sharon and her husband, former senator Francis “Kiko” Pangilinan, on Monday, filed a cyber libel complaint against Fermin for her YouTube videos alleging that Kiko physically abuses his wife and their children, including stepdaughter KC.
