We get it: it’s nerve-wracking to be in front of some of the biggest names in showbiz. So it’s even more stressful if you literally fall off the stage. Case in point: Herlene Budol. The Kapuso actress went viral (once again) and she had some strong opinions about her experience.

At the GMA Gala 2024 held on Saturday, July 20, Herlene was given the spotlight to flaunt her sultry and sparkling gown. However, her supposed-to-be-perfect shining moment at the gala was marred by an accident that shocked everyone. As she was walking down the runway, it seemed that the actress didn’t notice the end of it, leading her to fall face-first on the stage. She fell twice before being able to finish her catwalk on the stage.

In a video uploaded on the social media platform X, it looked like a dangerous fall. Other celebrities who witnessed the accident showed signs of oncern across their faces. The good thing was that Herlene knew how to pick up herself and make an empowering return to the stage.

Staff and other celebs hovered around Herlene, who was on the floor, asking if she was okay and if she could still stand. Then Herlene boldly stood up and went directly to the stage—now without her heels.

She went to the start of the runway once again and signaled that she was going to do a “second take” of everything. Then, there she was, strutting down the runway, with a more composed and still-confident aura.

Even on social media, Herlene seemed to be unfazed about the whole incident. She actually shared the video on her X account with some words of encouragement not just for herself but for everyone else who watched her accident.

She wrote, “Sa buhay kapag [nadapa] ka, Bumangon ka. Hangga’t may buhay, may [pag-asa]. Walang susuko para sa Pamilya.”

The video gained mixed reactions. While some have expressed concern for Herlene and  praised her for rising above the situation that night, others had some doubts.

Other commenters think that the incident was actually “staged” and “meant for clout.” One online use replied to Herlene’s post saying, “Nagpahulog ka naman talaga para mapag-usapan haha.” Another wrote, “Ay di halatang sadya…halatang halata lang! For da clout amp!”

Before the night ended, Herlene couldn’t help but clap back at the the comments through another post.

“Pag dapa indi pinag tatawanan. Accident always happened! Sa palagay nyo ba gusto ko ma dapa? lahat ng tao nadadapa, naaksidente, Ang importante safe at d nasugatan.”

Whatever transpired last night relating to Herlene’s fall, we just hope she’s okay.
