Elisse Joson shared an emotional and heartfelt message dedicated to her partner McCoy de Leon. However, netizens were not having it.

Elisse and McCoy first got close in 2016 when they were housemates in Pinoy Big Brother. In 2017, McCoy expressed his intention to court Elisse. From then, they’ve gone through a few issues that led them to break up in 2018 and 2023. Now, they’re back together and happily raising their beautiful daughter, Felize.

As celebrities, their relationship is not hidden from public scrutiny. In the past, netizens would wonder about the couple’s plans for marriage, especially after they rekindled their romance in early 2023.

We may not notice it, but comments about their relationship might have reached a never-ending point. Elisse probably decided to publicly show her support for her partner. On Wednesday, June 5, 2024, Elisse posted a lengthy dedication message for McCoy.

Elisse’s post contained all the beautiful things she sees in McCoy. She began the post with, “Not everyone will understand,” then praised McCoy as a partner to her and a father to Felize.

Deeper into her post, Elisse even enumerated how McCoy would compromise for her sake. Furthermore, she revealed that she did something wrong to McCoy.

The mom-actress continued in her post, “I’m sorry I put you through this. Heal.” Then, she requested the public to stop criticizing McCoy. She pointed out how McCoy will always be their family’s strength.

“Don’t put him in a category. Don’t put him in a box. He’s a person. Not any label or description u put him into. A person worthy of being known for himself as a whole. Not his past, not his mistakes, not whatever you see him as. Mccoy just “mccoy” A human being just like you. But for me and Felize, he is our strength. He is our family. He is what Felize has.”

A few moments after her lengthy post, Elisse couldn’t help but fire back at netizens whom she refers to as people who “just couldn’t understand.”

Elisse defends McCoy saying that he is someone who’s hurting and in need of comfort and guidance these days. “I did something that hurt him really bad. Now that he’s hurting he doesn’t know how to take the pain away,” she strongly expressed.

Without spilling any specific details about the situation, she further elaborated that McCoy is “protecting” her and “taking on the blame” for her. Her comments were a public plea for people to stop seeing McCoy as the bad guy in their relationship.

“I posted this so that those who can comprehend behind the context of this post, can see the actuality of the situation,” Elisse stated.

She even touched up on the issue of netizens nitpicking McCoy for following “too many” women on his Instagram account. While there’s no solid proof that McCoy is mostly following women on his social media account, Elisse shed some light on it.

She proclaimed, “And the liking/following whatsoever is only a small portion of what he is going through. What our family is going through. Kumbaga, katiting lang ‘yun.” It was vague, yet it was clear to everyone reading her statements that she understands and is one with McCoy in handling whatever they are facing as a couple.

Last but not least, Elisse asked the public to be careful of everything they say about McCoy. She insisted that McCoy is going through a rough patch at the moment. “McCoy is going through the worst right now. Think about that before you say and post something here,” Elisse warned.

Elisse tried her best to express her side on the matters hounding her relationship with McCoy. Some celebrities like Iza Calzado and Melai Cantiveros left sweet reactions and messages to Elisse’s post. Some netizens were also touched by how Elisse sees McCoy as a partner and the father of her daughter.

However, there were still netizens who couldn’t fully grasp what Elisse was trying to prove and impart to the public. A netizen questioned the connection between Elisse’s wrongdoing and McCoy’s alleged huge following of women on social media.

“Di ko ma-connect, ‘yung may nagawa kang mali? Kaya siya nag-follow ng mga girls? Huh? So parang kinokonsinti ‘yung ganoong act ni McCoy?” it asked.

Although the couple seems to appear happy in public, Elisse has always been open about the ups and downs of their relationship. Elisse once admitted that she does envision marrying McCoy, but she’s taking it slow. For her, the foundation of their marriage has been “rocky.”

Elisse is keen on making the best decisions now that she is a mother to their daughter. Another factor would be that their acting careers are doing great these days. With all those things currently happening in their lives, Elisse firmly stated that no wedding will occur anytime soon.

“Ang hirap madaliin ang kasal and the foundation is rocky. ‘Wag na muna po, we’re busy building the life of our dreams, tulad ng bahay,” Elisse said in an interview earlier this 2024.
