"This program is open so I can be with them all again. Because with the speed of events, it seems like it's been a long time since the previous Gandang Gabi Vice. It's like it's fresh again, so they're all good to be together again so we can make the audience happy again."

This Friday, July 24, is the grand launch of The Vice Ganda Network where the online talk show Gabing Gabi na Vice can be watched . 

Vice is excited because he misses hanging out with whoever will be his guests here. Because of the lockdown, he misses hanging out with anyone, period. It is said that even those who have been his guests in the former Gandang Gabi Vice take-2.

“You know all of them… this program is open so I can be with them all again,” said Vice at the Zoom press launch of The Vice Ganda Network earlier this week. “Because with the speed of events, it seems like it’s been a long time since the previous Gandang Gabi Vice. It ‘s like it’s fresh again, so they’re all good to be together again so we can make the audience happy again.”

He admitted that he and his staff at Gandang Gabi Vice used to have a problem with who else could be a guest. 

“But since it’s digital (Gabing Gabi na Vice) —online, it’s not TV, it’s more fun if we have a lot of people together.

It seems that in GGV before, ‘Yong Gandang Gabi Vice, we came to the point where we have guested all the artists in ABS-CBN . Even the staff, ‘Who else are we going to talk to? Who else are you going to interview? We’ve talked to everyone. All relevant, all artists in ABS-CBN for nine years, all sold out.’

“I said, ‘There is nothing we can do because that is the system. But here online, maybe it’s not bad and the viewers will be happy, for the audience to see other artists or celebrities that they have never seen or talked to or interviewed or bonded with.”

And since Gabing Gabi na Vice cannot be watched on ABS-CBN’s digital platform , Vice wishes that he could have guest artists from GMA-7.

“There are many GMA artists that I would like to interview Heart [Evangelista] or Marian Rivera and Dingdong [Dantes] again—because I have never interviewed Dingdong solo on Gandang Gabi Vice before… When I interviewed him, he and Kris [Aquino] were two. But that solo is not yet. And the other star of GMA , Michael V. I want to be with him too. A lot…a lot more.”

At this point in his life, competition is not on his mind anymore.

“You can’t think about it now—and what’s the competition when we’re not on the air, who are we going to compete with?” Vice laughed but realistically. 

“I will give priority to buying a mask, I will give priority to making sure I do not have COVID , I will give priority to being able to feed myself and my family… I will give priority to helping there my family members who need help more than I think about the competition. Nope. It’s not right.”
