John Prats was still clear about the seeming sinking of his career when he and Heart Evangelista broke up in 2003.
He said he was popular back then because of his JCS group with him (J), Carlo Aquino (C), and Stefano Mori (S) but it was affected by his breakup with Heart.
John’s story to Bianca Gonzalez in the “Trust the Process” vlog series, “When G-Mik started , that’s when I felt the fame, it was a good feeling…
“I said, I’m lucky that I was caught when I was an artist without a cell phone, without social media.
“Because at that time, I feel the difference between then and now, the fans were more eager.
“So, when they see you, like when we go to Cebu, it’s terrible, as in entering the front of our hotel, it’s full of young people.”
That’s why they have decoys who wear the same clothes as them on stage to mislead the fans who flock to them.
He said there was a problem when he was matched with Heart in several projects until they became in real life.
John continued, “The John and Heart era came. That’s right, that’s a different genre, a different level in my life.
“Because it’s like we became a love team, then we made a movie, commercials, me and Heart.”
But their relationship did not last long. It only lasted about a year.
Looking back, he said, “I felt that my career had collapsed when Heart and I broke up.
“And then, my only show at that time was, before there was ASAP and then there was ASAP Fanatic , for children, younger.
“That was the only show I had before that my [talent fee] was so small, I was only seen and working once a week.”
It is said that John overcame all this because he returned to his first love—dancing—where he was given a second chance.
He added, “Then it’s very frustrating because you see your former love team have a good career, and then you feel, ‘What can I do to reinvent myself?’
“And then, that’s when I realized, ‘Why don’t I go back to my first love, which is dancing?’ So, I took dancing seriously.”
Until he became a part of Ang Probinsyano from the time it started airing until the end of the series this Friday, August 12, almost seven years later.
