Paulo Avelino admitted at the mediacon of the Pinoy version of the K-drama What’s Wrong with Secretary Kim that he was able to accept the project because of Kim Chiu .
“I think if it was offered to me and if it wasn’t Kim [as my leading lady], I would probably have second thoughts,” reveal ni Paulo.
Addressing Kim directly, he added: “Maybe, what, this Secretary Kim, because of my love for you as a co-worker, and for the work you gave to Linlang, so give back to you. So, I’m here at Secretary Kim to give back .”
The host, Ai dela Cruz, immediately teased, “So, because of Kim, let’s go , no more thoughts?”
“Because of Kim and Sir Deo [Endrinal, former head of Dreamscape Entertainment,” he answered quickly.
( Deo Endrinal , who was one of the people who gave Paulo his big break at ABS-CBN, passed away on February 3.).
While Paulo was saying this to the girl, Kim reciprocated with a sweet smile that kept everyone at the mediacon and some netizens watching KimPau via Facebook Live.

Dagdag ni Paulo: “There’s always pressure whenever you do an adaptation. But what we did was to stick to the script and be true to our culture to show how well we can do it as Filipinos.”
“This one’s gonna be really different , ” continued Paulo about the KimPau’s first romcom project. Coming from very heavy and serious characters, I’m happy to be given a chance to play a role like this. It’s exciting.”
