Snoop Dogg notices ‘Kalokalike’ from ‘It’s Showtime’ (nuna)

American rap legend Snoop Dogg has reacted to his impersonator on the “Kalokalike Face 4″ segment of Kapamilya noontime program “It’s Showtime.”

In the October 5 episode of It’s Showtime, Carlos Sintyoco, a contestant from Tondo, Manila, performed Snoop Dog and Dr. Dre’s hit “The Next Episode”.

The real Snoop Dogg seemed to find his impersonator amusing as he reposted the latter’s funny conversation with “It’s Showtime” hosts Vhong Navarro, Jhong Hilario, Kim Chiu and Ogie Alcasid in an Instagram post on October 8.

“Wow get it nefew (nephew),” the 52-year-old rapper captioned his post with laughing and crying emojis.

Snoop Dogg is one of the icons of rap music. Born Calvin Broadus in Los Angeles, Snoop Dogg rose to popularity in the early 90s when he was featured on Dr. Dre’s solo debut album “The Chronic.”

He is also known for his works including “Gin & Juice,” “Who Am I? (What’s My Name?),” and “Drop It Like It’s Hot.”

Last July, Snoop Dogg carried the Olympic flame for the opening ceremony. He was also spotted at several Olympic events, including judo at the Arena Champ-de-Mars, beach volleyball next to the Eiffel Tower, and 3×3 basketball at the Place de la Concorde.

PARIS (Reuters) – Rap superstar Snoop Dogg is joining the legendary hip hop label Def Jam Recordings as executive creative and strategic consultant, the U.S. company said on Monday.

Def Jam, owned by Universal Music, has been home to some of hip-hop’s most pioneering artists, from Public Enemy to LL Cool J and the Beastie Boys. Its current roster includes Justin Bieber, Rihanna and Kanye West.

Calvin Cordozar Broadus Jr, professionally known as Snoop Dogg, will be based in Los Angeles and report to Universal Music Group Chairman and Chief Executive Sir Lucian Grainge and Def Jam interim Chairman and CEO Jeffrey Harleston.

Snoop would not be the first rapper to take on an executive role at Def Jam. In 2004, Jay-Z was named president and CEO of the label, but left after three years.

It was ‘Nothing But A ‘G’ Thang” on Hollywood Boulevard Tuesday (March 19) where iconic Hip-Hop producer Andre Young, better known as Dr. Dre, was presented with his Hollywood star on the famous Walk of Fame.

Artists including Eminem, 50 Cent, Snoop Dogg and music mogul Jimmy Iovine were in attendance to honor the Doctor, something Dr. Dre said it was a long time coming.

“I’d like to thank the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce, who felt that I was finally ready to walk in the footsteps of Ice Cube, Snoop Dogg, 50 cent, all of whom got stars before me for some reason,” he said.

The multi-platinum winning producer and nine-time Grammy award winner said growing up in Compton, California he could have never imagined this honor.

“I’m most proud of elevating the clarity and sound of how we experience hip-hop. Getting that thing right is one of my greatest achievements. I love that this honor is unique to Los Angeles and brings fans from all over the world to my hometown to connect with their favorite artists. So yeah, I’ll be here forever.”

Long time friend and music collaborator Snoop Dogg praised Dr. Dre for mentoring him over the years.

“There will be no Snoop without Dre. Together we created magic in the studio. Our collaborations have left a mark on the world of music. From intro to Indo, our partnership has been legendary,” he said.

PARIS – American rapper Snoop Dogg will be among the carriers of the Olympic flame this Friday as it makes its final rounds before the Paris Games’ opening ceremony.

He will carry it through the streets of Saint-Denis, the ethnically diverse northern Paris suburb that is home to the Olympic Stadium and Aquatics Centre, the town’s mayor Mathieu Hanotin told AFP on Monday.

Other carriers in Saint-Denis Friday will include French actress Laetitia Casta, French rapper MC Solaar and Ukrainian retired pole-vaulter Sergey Bubka.

The Olympic flame has spent two months crossing France, and Friday morning it will be carried through the athletes’ village which straddles Saint-Denis and neighbouring Saint-Ouen, before going to the Olympic Stadium and the Aquatics Centre a few kilometres away.

Snoop Dogg, 52, was born in greater Los Angeles, which will host the next Games in 2028.
