Drama queen Judy Ann Santos recalled the case filed by the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) back in 2005.

Judy Ann, also known as Juday, has been in the industry for almost 40 years. She started her acting career at a young age and her showbiz journey is proof of how she managed to achieve longevity in the industry.

The actress was never involved in big controversies except one. That was the time when BIR filed a case against her for her alleged violation of the Tax Reform Act of 1997 or Section 255 of Republic Act No. 8424.

In a recent interview, based on the article in PEP, Judy Ann Santos recalled the most challenging time she had in showbiz that almost made her quit.

She admitted that at that time, her mind was so cloudy as they were a lot of intrigues and she was feeling that she would fall down. “Parang feeling ko ang pinaka-naging isa sa mga malaking rason, pinakamalaking issue na pinagdaanan ko na made me want to quit was nung nagkakaso ako against BIR. Iyon talaga yung parang hindi ko matanggap na, ‘Anong nangyayari?’” she shared.

She was facing people’s scrutiny also even though they did not know what really happened. Juday started her career in showbiz when she was just eight years old. She stressed that she could never know about taxes at that age.

In that challenging situation, Judy Ann said that she learned an important lesson. “But then again, lesson learned, maayos na ang pangkalahatan na yun. Parang yun nga e, bibigyan ka ng isang matinding challenge ni Lord, para ma-realize mo na, ‘Kasi ito anak, medyo nakakalimot ka na,” the actress said.

Right now, the actress follows a system when it comes to her finances and her lawyers are helping her with her contracts. With what happened to her, Juday said that she had to go through that in order to know the legalities of her career as an artist.

Judy Ann Santos acknowledged that chapter of her life was really intense. Fortunately, she was able to surpass and continue to do her profession as an actress.
