When news came in July that Bea Alonzo and Dominic Roque are set to be wed, it sent many fans cheering for the happy couple, but Bea has revealed that they were forced to announce it earlier than planned due to leaked photos.

The revelation came after the actress was asked about her life after the proposal in an interview on Fast Talk with Boy Abunda.

“Sa totoo lang Tito Boy, dapat hindi talaga namin muna iaannounce kasi we wanted to savor it, na kami muna. ‘Yung kahit na one month na kami lang ‘yung nakakaalam. We wanted to keep it a secret na parang may kinakikiligan kami na kaming dalawa lang,” Bea said.

“But then, may nag-leak kasi na photos from the venue, and so we had to announce right away kasi parang unfair naman kung manggagaling sa ibang tao ‘yung announcement, so naunahan na namin,” she added.

To recall, the local star announced her engagement on July 19 through a series of Instagram pictures showing Dominic kneeling on one knee while she was bursting into tears.

“It’s like time stood still. Everything went in slow motion. And I felt different emotions all at the same time—joy, excitement, love. I started bawling,” Bea shared regarding what she felt during that moment.

Now that a few months have passed since the love of her life popped the big question, the actress said that they are now in the “chill” phase again.

“Syempre lahat ng emotions naman na ‘yun, just like in any other relationship, nagfe-fade ‘yun e, di’ba? Nandoon ‘yung parang bugso tapos chill na ulit kami. We went to Europe together, we were able to spend time together,” Bea said.

She joked, “Nag-aaway na kami ulit, mga small things lang naman.”

When asked about what she would do if there would be a third party, Bea asserted her belief that it’s not the woman or the third party who should be confronted, but the cheating partner.

“Siguro si Dom ‘yung aawayin ko. Hindi talaga ako nang-aaway ever ng babae. Paulit-ulit sinasabi sa akin ng nanay ko, ever since bata ako: You can never seduce a happy husband. So if he’s happy, he can never be seduced,” the actress stressed.

She went on, “Ang panghahawakan mo kung may relasyon kayo ay ‘yung pangako niyo sa isa’t isa, ‘yung commitment niyo sa isa’t isa. So kanya ka magrereklamo, ‘dun sa taong binitawan ka ng pangako.”

The loving couple is planning to tie the knot sometime next year.
