Marian Rivera was mentioned during a recent episode of ‘It’s Showtime’

The hosts of Kapamilya noontime show It’s Showtime challenge Kapuso Primetime Queen Marian Rivera to do the “Kyudkyud Niyog” dance challenge.

Marian’s popularity on TikTok rose very quickly. She just started using the video-sharing social media platform last year and posted her entry to a challenge that now has over 200 million views. Currently, she has 9.4 million followers on TikTok.

The actress continued to share her entries to different challenges. Last month, Marian shared another TikTok dance challenge to celebrate the success of her movie Balota and to thank her fans also.

On the November 20 episode of It’s Showtime, the hosts posed a new dance challenge for Marian Rivera. During the semifinals of the segment Kalokalike Face 4, the funny banter started when the other hosts taught Anne Curtis how to dance like Marian.

Pattie, the impersonator of the Kapuso Primetime Queen, gamely taught Anne but she was not able to get it after several repeats. Then, Vice Ganda jokingly said to Anne, “Kaya (hindi mo magawa). hindi mo pa nararanasan magkudkod ng niyog, eh no?”

Anne asked how she would do that as she needed to visualize the “pagkyudkyod ng niyog.” Then, Vice joked, “Ganoon pala sa Australia. ‘Nagkyukyudkyud ng niyog.’” Eventually, Anne was able to get the dance. The show’s hosts lauded the impersonator for doing the dance choreography.

However, Vice had a different version of this. He gestured like he was sitting on a chair while doing the scrubbing gesture. The audience laughed at this. From Anne Curtis, the other hosts made others do this dance challenge including the Kapuso hurados Richard Yap, Ruffa Mae Quinto, and Gladys Reyes.
Then, the hosts mentioned Marian Rivera. “Nananawagan kami sa iyo Marian. ‘Di mo kaya i-viral sa TikTok ‘yung challenge. Marian, subukan natin i-trend ‘yon sa TikTok,” Vice Ganda said in jest. Vhong Navarro added that they wil wait what would be Marian’s answer to this.
