Bea Alonzo clarified the reason why she previously said that she did not initiate her breakup with Dominic Roque.

On Thursday’s “Fast Talk with Boy Abunda,” Tito Boy recalled that the Kapuso actress disclosed this in an interview on “24 Oras,” and the following month, in a magazine feature, she said that the breakup was a mutual decision.

“Tito Boy, not that I owe anyone an explanation, I really don’t want to talk about this anymore. But to answer your question, baka nga may mga nalilito, during that time that I did Tatler, that was like a month ago. Kasi po bago po sila makapag-release ng July issue, medyo matagal na. That was the only time I kind of talked about it because I was asked,” Bea said.

She continued, “Then, during ’24 Oras,’ I didn’t have the intention to talk about it because nga I really wanted to give respect to the relationship that was.”

While she was talking to Nelson Canlas, they touched on the topic of fake news.

“And then I was so comfortable talking to him as if walang camera sa harapan, and then he went like, sabi niya, ‘Siyempre ikaw ‘yung nakipag-break. Hindi nila alam mahirap din sa ‘yo.’ And parang it was like an instinct na I had to correct him. But I didn’t have any intention to really talk about it,” Bea said.

She then told Tito Boy that the breakup did eventually become a mutual decision, despite the other party initiating it first.

“Of course we worked it out, right? It was a very serious relationship, obviously,” she said.

Bea’s interview with “24 Oras” aired on June 13.

On July 5, Tatler released her two-cover special.

Last February, Tito Boy confirmed that Dominic and Bea had broken off their engagement. The host also reminded the public to be kinder amid the breakup and to avoid speculating.

The former couple started dating in January 2021. They got engaged in July last year and planned to get married this year.

Bea and Dominic released a statement in February confirming their separation.
