During the It's Showtime's “eXspecially for you” segment last Saturday, January 20, Vice Ganda asked Anne Curtis to repeat the words “nice” and “ganda,” to which the latter innocently complied. Anne, a Jollibee endorser, realizing that what Vice made her say was the tagline for his own recent commercial for McDonald’s Philippines, immediately apologized on air.

Anne Curtis took to X (formerly Twitter) to assure fans that she and It’s Showtime co-host Vice Ganda are on good terms after an incident involving their fast food chain endorsements happened on the variety show last Saturday, January 20.

“Guys, kalma. No need for such negative energy. Vice and I are fine. It was a lapse of judgment on both sides. At least we can move forward and be [careful]. Ganyan ang [biruan] backstage but syempre dapat iba pag on air. Kaya kalma. It’s a beautiful day,” the actress wrote.

Last Saturday, she apologized on air after saying the popular tagline for Vice’s rival fast food chain endorsement, which immediately trended on social media.

Vice is the celebrity endorser of McDonald’s Philippines while Anne endorses Jollibee.

During the segment “eXspecially for you,” Vice asked Anne to repeat the words “nice” and “ganda,” to which the latter innocently complied.

Anne—realizing that what Vice made her say was the tagline for his own recent commercial for McDonald’s Philippines—immediately apologized on air.

“Sorry po, pasensya na po kayo, hindi ko po sinasadya ’yon,” she said.

Vice jokingly questioned why she was apologizing, saying there was nothing wrong with her statement.

“Ikaw, ’pag nawalan ako ng kontrata. Pasensya na po kayo, hindi ko po sinasadya,” Anne said.

Netizens reacted to the situation, saying Anne wants to simply honor her contract so she apologized quickly, with some slamming the Unkabogable Box Office Star for being insensitive in putting Anne in an uneasy situation.

Vice responded to Anne’s abovementioned post regarding the situation, explaining that it was part of their “brandagulan” moment and he apologized to her after.

“Yes, it was [a] lapse of judgment. It was our usual ‘brandagulan’ moment na late [niya] narealize so nasabi [niya] ’yong tagline ng ‘di [niya] namalayan. I apologized to her and pinagtawanan [na lang] namin,” he said
